18in rims, lowered, camber kit possible?
18in rims, lowered, camber kit possible?
I have 18in RH Evo C3's with 215/40 toyo proxes4's that i just wrapped on this weekend. I was wondering if it's possible if I can put a camber kit. I don't know exactly how many inches my car is dropped because it's on ground control sleeved coilovers, but there is no gap between the fender well and the tire, if that helps. Will rolling my fenders help?
Also, I'm not a guru at how camber kits work, but as I now have a negative camber, from my understanding, whenever the tire hits a bump, the whole rim/tire is angled into the fender well, correct? So if I put a camber kit, when I hit a small bump in the road, will the tire/rim angle in to the well or bounce straight up? I don't know if that made any sense.
Thanks in advanced.

the purpose of a camber kit is to align your wheels so it sits at a proper stance. by setting your wheels on a proper stance, it WILL prevent tire wear and even help performance wise for those track heads.
but in your situation, if your wheels arent rubbing and losing tire thread, rolling your fenders would be the best bet as its a cheaper solution to prevent the tires rubbing when riding so low. you said you have negative camber? you could expect negative camber wear in the future if your dropped that low and on 18s.
check out spc and ingalls as they make good camber kits.

Get the SPC kit...
the install is pretty easy... definite DIY. But like you said... you'll have to take it to a shop to get properly aligned.
