Hayame v3 coilovers
Anyone get these yet. I'm checking out prices and the Hayame v3 are around $620-625. I believe they come with Tokico shocks. I know people have had issues with the v1 and v2. Just checking to see if they are better than the v1 and v2. Tein basic are about $910-925. Anything above that price range is out of my range.
Probablly crappy like the past 2 versions. Why does it take 3 versions to make it good? You know what they say: If it happens once, then it probably won't happen again, but if it happens twice, then it will most likely happen again. SO, v1 maybe was a mistake, so they came out with v2, but that was a mistake too, so v3 is most likely a mistake. Don't know though, I could be judging to quickly. Anyone dare to try it?
V3's not out yet
Hey, just trying to clear the air. I've talked to Ed at TrueHonda every week for the last four weeks. The Hayame V3's are NOT OUT YET. He says the manufacturer should have them out in the next 3-4 weeks, but you know how that goes... Could be 3-4 MONTHS by the time it's said and done.
As for the quality, yeah you get what you pay for and I'm going to throw down the $620 cuz they'll be good enough for daily driver. No, I don't autocross, but they are adjustable (3-way I think) and the shocks are supposedly manufactured by Tokico and are replaceable, so I've read...Don't quote me on the technicalities, but I do know for a fact that they are not in stock yet. Just call Ed at TrueHonda for the latest info on them.

the hayames are NOT BAD...the impression going around that they are the worst set of coilovers you can buy is bull ****. They work fine! They just aren't adjustable! I think, for the money, this is the best buy. No reusing of stock parts, nothing to worry about, just bolt and go. If you have more money, get TEIN's, if not the Hayames are a great daily driving suspension setup.
Thanks for the info choco. My friend has had them on his vic for over two years now and he's never had a problem with them. I believe they're the best buy for your average daily driver too. Hopefully the v3's will be out sooner rather than later!

they don't suck...they just aren't as good as higher end suspension system...so when one rich kid comes out and says hayame sucks cause he has top of the line 2093427098 way adjustable coilovers, everyone jumps the bandwagon and starts sayin it sucks when they aren't that bad at all. As I said before, you get what you paid for, so what do you expect for $650+ coilover system? if you expect top end performance, you're not very bright, but I think for $650 the value, its great! So for those of you who want these just for daily driving and don't wanna do any hardcore stuff, these are great.
on the other hand, omni is great, along with TEIN for those with a bigger budget.

I've noticed alot of people who don't like the Hayames only complain because the ride is too stiff for them.
Alot of people complain of bouncing around in the car...well what do you expect when you've just stiffened up your suspension?
Most complaints I hear about Hayames are actually what I want in my ride...stiff and being able to feel the road.

^^^^^ yesh...
I dunno if you can customize the spring rates like u can do with teins but who knows, maybe a set of TEIN SS springs will fit on the Hayames...no one's ever tried.
the hayames even have the 3 nut locking mechanism where you can adjust the height of your ride without changing the preload on the spring, a option even the TEIN SS's don't have, only the FLEX has it.

I have the Hayame v2's and I'll admit that they're cheaply made. Sure, the ride is comfortable enough for passengers AND yet it's stiff enough to make a huge difference in handling. That being said, the only installation help you're going to get is from the fine people on these message boards and there seems to be some quality control issues. For example mine seem to have play in the front struts (for lack of better terms, where the threaded part enters the "strut housing"), and if you read threads from about a year ago you'll see a wide variety of very specific complaints. My problem means that alignments come and go, and I've had other alignment problems.
People that say "they suck" have finished complaining about details and have either moved on to better, or deal with their imperfect suspensions as I have. I think you'll find that the majority of happy hayame customers have v1's, and why they ever redesigned them will always be a mystery.
If you are experiencing a streak of good fortune, you're probably ok to pick up a set of v2's and it will be an excellent deal, provided your luck holds. Otherwise, you can always hope that Hayame will bring back the v1's, or some become available on Ebay.
Just my 2 pennies.
