Power Steering Or No That is The Question
i want to know some info if anyone is has taking off the powersteering i believe that those who feel the steering is to quick of a response that u feel u might over steer i wanted to know ppl that have taking off there power steering and how is the ride and if u would recomended it thanks

Pull the fuse. It shouldn't affect over/understeer. It will help you turn "better" but only at faster speeds. The ride shouldn't change it just is different. Have you never driven a car without it?
I'm in the process of removing my ps by looping the rack lines and installing a breather, similar to the threads on Honda-Tech

I have most of the assembly and just need a reservoir and time to do it. As I've said before, Civics are small cars that don't need ps. I've been driving around with my belt off for months, and the only complaint is tight parking space turning. And that is just because of the fluid pressure in the rack, so once the breather is installed the turning should be easier. I've been speaking with someone this past week who was planning on removing his ps this past weekend but I haven't heard from him yet whether he did or not.

I ditched my belt a while back and love the improved acceleration. Like most have said it's a little tough in parking lots and around slow city turns, but once your moving you really can't tell that much difference from stock. I was told if you don't leave the fluid in there to lubricate the rack it will screw things up. Is that true? Also either I got stronger or my fluid has evaporated cause before I left it was actually pretty easy to turn all the time. Nothing like when I first took it off. Any ideas or precautions I should take.

wow i must say thanks for all the feed back i really was hoping to know just before i do anything to it but snice im still thinking would anyone which way would be better just cut the belt or drain the ps fluid and to reply if i know how to drive without it yes and in my opinion it feels better snice i know i have quick reflex and theres time i think that i have to my reflex and i might just over pull the wheel while cutting in and out of turns

you don't have to cut the belt, just loosen the tensioner wingnut bolt and I'm pretty sure it will just slide off. After reading the threads on honda tech I am gonna remove the pump and try to loop it using the stock resivour as a breather. 10-20lbs That I really don't need. Thanks for that link bobsagator. Just some insight to cars that have disabled the P/S by just taking the belt off causes sever strain on the steering column. Normally it takes a lot more force for the driver to turn the wheel, the driver inadvertenly(sp) puts additional strain horizontialy on the column

Also I don't think the stock reservoir can be used as a breather unless you poke a hole in the lid.
I revised my loop assembly since the 7th gen, according to the service manual, has a 14mm and 16mm flare bolt for the inlet and outlet lines. I thought there was a barb and a female, but there are two females, so I got a new adapter and hose fitting. Still looking for a breather.
