Endlink Install

Hi all,
looking up on information regarding install of sway bar.... but kinda stuck on the step of tigthening the self-locking nuts to the endlink bolts, which I am supposed to torque back at 28 ft-lb.

Will I be able to use a torque wrench to tighten these nuts? or must I use an open ended wrench along with the 5mm Allen hex key to tighten it back, and if so, how can I ensure the open ended wrench can tighten at around 28 ft-lb?

thanks,

28 ft-lbs is tight, not super tight. I wouldnt worry about the torque setting to much on this particular part as long as its tight and wont come loose. If you want to get an idea of what 33 ft-lbs, remove one of your strut bolts from the top of the strut tower. That'll give you a reference to work off of.

thx
but is it possible to install the nuts on the endlinks with a torque wrench? or am I only able to use a box wrench with the 5mm hex key?

and is there a box wrench that allows me to tighten with some type of torque precision?

They make a box end wrench that you can put on the end of a torque wrench, its sometimes called a crowsfoot wrench... here's a link:

just remember the crows foot has to be 90 degrees to the torque wrench to get the right torque value
