Adjust height each season

I'm just wondering how many of you out there have coilovers and adjust the height each year, like lower it before summer and then raise it before winter, maybe when you're switching winter tires?
I want to lower my car for spring/summer/fall but I dread what'll happen when winter kicks in and I start dragging through snow drifts (you Canadians will especially know what I mean).
Or am I completely in outfield and it's not that simple to adjust it so often?

i have coilovers and only adjust when i swap new wheels so i wont rub. but im dropped pretty much about 1.8-2" all around regardless of season/rain/sun. if you got high inches of snow/water/flooding in your area, i would definately think about raising it to keep it safe. mostly if you have an CAI. adjusting coilovers is a very simple process. if u want to adjust fronts, jack the front, place jack stands, adjust away... no need to take out the wheel.

Well you can, but I believe it is just silly. You will have to get an alignment everytime you make major changes to your suspension. So drive around like the way you are now or pay for an alignment/new tires every season.

I'm actually thinking about it. I go snowboarding a lot and my car almost got stuck twice(one time because it was too low). I barely have a gap so I cant fit chains so i'm thinking about raising it in order to fit them. Yeah it'll throw off the alignment but not by a whole lot and even if it does, its just my "beater rims" anyway so.

...but there are no coilovers for our Civics that actually raise the car to stock, right? Don't they all lower even a bit, even at their highest setting?

There are none that go to stock height as far as I know.

I have coilovers on my car. I just bought some 18s to replace my 16s. When I take my car autocrossin, I will have to have my ride height each time to accomodate my autocrossin wheels (my stock 15s). I will be autocrossin every other month or so, so I will be spending some time at my local tuner's having them adjust the ride height before the event and after the event.

There should be enough room to get the wrenches and your hand in there with the car jacked up in the front. Then you just turn once the lock nuts are loose. The rears you need to take the wheel off.

i do it all the time with my skunk2 coilovers. i jack up the front just enough so the wheels/tires give me enough wheel gap room to work with the perchs/springs. i have 15's so maybe rim size and tire size vary?

i do the same for rear wheels too. but i do it so im behind the rear wheels which is a pain in the *** cause im lazy to take out the rear wheels

Thanks guys, your posts have helped me out a lot on this. Coilovers are more expensive but this is their biggest advantage. Knowing it can be done without too much hassle (about twice a year) makes it worth it, I think.

I do this all the time with my coilovers. Skunk 2. Takes about and 1 1/2 hours to do complete raise - measuring to make sure all around will be equal height, etc. Lowering is a little faster cuz I drop it all the way. I also have lifetime alignment at Firestone and they dont care how often you go in there, this will mainly affect toe and camber adjustments. You will want a camber kit, I have spc. Not all that hard, just need wd-40 and keep up on alignments.
