do you regret your suspension upgrades?

I've read alot of posts lately about how people regret spending money on power and aesthetic upgrades, and I was wondering about the suspension people. I'm asking b/c i'm about to drop some money. I have the front sway bar on order (I have a DX) and i'm thinking about springs and shocks. Basically I don't care about power b/c I got the vic for its MPG, but I like subtle aesthetic things (I tinted the windows and painted the black mirrors, and handles) and i really like suspension stuff. Thanks.

I started with a Stock 01 LX... I have a stock 25.4 MM front sway bar, I added B&G springs, 1.5 inch drop ~200 bux, 19mm OBX rear sway bar ~160 bux, Neuspeed front strut tower bar ~115 bux, suspension techniques front sway bar bushings ~15 bux, and 17" wheels... and I really enjoy the handling of my car. I would say handling upgrades are the cheapest way to start really enjoying your car, with bigger wheels/tires being the most expensive but most cosmetically pleasing upgrade...

The only thing I regret is giving up the more comfortable ride I had with my stock suspension and tires/wheels. Its a trade off that I was willing to take for better performance and looks.

The only thing I regret about my suspension setup is not having taken it to its current level sooner. IMO I should have gotten the suspension up to snuff before doing all the bodywork and getting that intake and axleback. That said I think I may upgrade it again soon. Front end needs more bracing, rear upper needs to be replaced, maybe custom-fab a new floor bar...

i regret not getting a good setup the first time, consequently i wasted about 600$ on differnt setups that didnt last, so if your gonna lower do it right, Good shocks, good springs, camber kit and lastly get an alignment, dont cheat yourself, it will cost you more in the end.

^^^I agree with Flotsamm. You can't always have everything; some things gotta be sacrifried. IMO though, if you spend money on springs, then might as well get new shocks and thus you'll have both the agressive look you were looking for, plus the ride comfort you had back when the ride was stock. Personally, I don't regreat any of my mods.

Suspension mods.
Eiback Sportlines
Neuspeed USB
SPC Camber Kits

Soon to come:
Tokicos HP
&
Progress Front & Rear Sway Bars
After that, suspenssion should be complete.

I bought some arospeed adjustable coilovers for my 2004 civic LX coupe, they look really cool, getting them installed this weekend, I am running 18" wheels with 215-35-18s and am wondering if the stock struts will let me go down 2" and still have some travel?

depends on WHAT you do with your car

JIC coilover, $1450
Progress F/R, $140/130
Neuspeed Front Strut bar, $90
Neuspeed X-brace, $110
Cusco Rear strut, $130
SPC camber kit, $80 or so

many tires, brake pads, wheels

if ur just going to drive ur car around the street, leave it stock, save the money

Yup. do it right the first time. I suffered and lost money for not taking my time. I went from ground controls on stock struts, to air ride because I blew my rear struts, to now Tein SS coilovers. I love my set up. car corners and handles great.

Currently running:

Tein SS coilovers
Neuspeed Front upper strut
DC Rear lower Tie bar
DC rear upper Tie bar
RSX rear sway bar
Ingalls Camber kit (front and back)

Would not change a thing now. I do miss my air ride ability to adjust my height with a touch of a switch though. Other then that and losing lots of money to fix and buy other setups, I'm very very happy

I wish I had gotten koni's instead of tokico's. I would have had more suspension travel, adjustability and I wouldn't have had to modify them.
