What springs will support my stereo?
OK everyone I have an 03 Coupe and have a fully fiberglassed trunk. I had Eibach Sportlines on the car, but the stereo made the back sag too much. I've heard of using sedan springs for a higher load rate, but I'd like to see if anyone has tried it yet and get some feedback. The car is back on stock springs now and still sags a little. So now I need to sell these Eibachs and buy something new.

it is not the springs, it is the shocks. get new shocks and maybe some springs with higher spring rates. Just getting higher spring rates won't do much. There aren't any springs that have higher spring rates than sportlines. Most springs will only be at most 35% stiffer than stock. You can get custom spring rates for many companies or get full coilovers.

Get the sedan version of the sportlines, This should help a bit with your sagging problem. It may not solve it depending on how much wieght you have back there, but it will help.

Coilovers (sleeved anyway) seem way too harsh. I liked the Eibachs but the sagginging sucked. The ride WAS nice though.

Yup, it is the shocks. The spring will help but in the long run you will have to replace the shocks and springs because the shocks will give out and too much weight on the springs over time will damage them. You might as well solve the problem now instead of waiting till this happens. I had the same problem with my sedan. I had a full custom trunk that weighed a ton. Over time my back shocks gave out and forced me to go another route. I got bags because I had my system was built with all wood, but fiberglass wont weigh as much so you should be safe with a true coilover setup. Maybe look into Teins or something similar. I just reciently changed to Teins SS and love the ride, handling, and its ability to hold up the weight.
I previously had progress springs, and when I had a sub and box in the back around 75lbs the back end would sag a little. I switched to a lighter sub setup and it made a world of difference not only in the ride height, but also in the accleration of the car
I have the tokico blues and my backend sags because of my stereo. maybe, but maybe because I have coupe springs in a sedan. I dont think the shocks are the answer I think it is the springs.
eibach sportines are known to sag your rear for some owners.
have you tried taking out your system of your trunk and see if the rear still sags? new springs wont do as much as if you were to replace some better shocks. your better off investing into shocks. if you wait til you blow them out, then your lose OEM shocks and start looking into new ones.
