If the st bar sits similar to stock then you should be fine. I thought the x brace was worth it but I took it off because it is illegal in ST and stock classes for autox.

It is a worthy upgrade if you can stand the harshness of the ride. I have a complete suspension setup on my car (coilovers, front / rear strut bars / sway bars). When I had my x-brace on I could corner on a dime. I've since taken it off because it rattled with my magnaflow exhaust. But now that the turbo is back on I want to see about reinstalling it - it stiffens things up alot!

I am just looking for a good handling street car that can do a little autocross at my friends lot where there are no rules... so go ahead and do it (also my rep said he's get it to me for $110 now!)
I would say get the tanabe Sub-frame brace instead. I know that grey has it and mine is sitting at my house. It looks like it would do alot better job with tightening up the front end If I were you I would go under greys DIY and read up on his one about the Tanabe sub frame brace and check it out compared to the x-brace. you will see waht I mean.

It was his fault, but you have to recognize how low the bar sits compared to the x brace.
