alignment(s)?

Ok here's my deal....I plan on installing a spc camber kit w/ my drop (Tein s-tech's/tokico blues) and I was wondering if after I get my alignment....would that one time alignment be sufficent enough or will I eventually have to go back and get another one (or many others) in the long run?

Like, does the alignment gradually go out of spec over time?

Yes it goes out of spec over time. You should, as a rule of thumb, get one at least once a year.

o alritey, thanks! seems like dropping a car has more hidden fees to it than just buying shocks and springs

Thats not a hidden cost. Thats a generally good idea for any car.

For a Stock street car, you could probably get away with an alignment every 2 years.... as long as it wasnt beat on too much (rough roads, pot holes, ect..)

There are a few Wear items and general mantinace items that get ignored in street cars...

just to name the most common.
1. alignments, Noted above
2. Brake fluid, should be changed every 2 years, and blead every year for street cars. Track cars, bleed and replace much more often.... (For Open track its reccomended to bleed the brakes before and after evey track event)

since you live in houston, check out brake check on hwy 6 in sugarland, I have a lifetime alignment with them. I get my alignments free. I usually go once a month. I paid $100 for it. And I am dropped.

I have my car dropped, it's only 3 months old and it has already worn out more than half the treads<--?(Did I spell taht right?) of the tires. It sucks; before the end of the year I might have to already get new tires for the front. I was wondering, can anyone more or less tell me how much will te SPCs prolonged the life of the tires? I imagine of course it will depend on many factors, like how I drive, (- or +) camber specs, etc...but out of curiosity, does anyone know?

^^ mostlikly you have a toe problem, when you drop our cars the front and rear end Toe in, causing excessive wear that is ushually blamed on camber. Camber on its self (with 0 toe) can be run for quite some time with out excessive tire wear.

So I was wrong then. It's a Toe problem and not a camber problem, ok.
But to tell you the truth though, I mostly have negative camber on the back only. The front isn't really that bad. Could it be that I'm steping too hard on the gas once I start my car and as a consequence I'm wearing them out too fast? I was hoping for our stock tires to last a little longer, but I guess I was wrong about that as well.

I dunno about you, but on my civic the stock tires were Firestones. They are the worst excuse for a tire company I've ever heard. I got Kuhmo Ecsta Supras and I love them.. Slow wear so far and the stick to the road like crazy.

On a 2nd note, I am dropped only on prokits but am later buying tokicos. I was going to go ahead and buy a camber kit, but i'm uncertain of what to buy. Any help?

^^^You should definately get the camber kit wether you get the Tokikos or not. As previously stated the car will have negative camber once dropped. They say SPC works great. I bought them but I haven't had the time to installe them yet. I let you know soon as I do.

^^^^ Ok, cool man. I'm going to get my toe set back to zero at the dealership (thanks to a good ole conversation with boilermaker) and then see how my car handles. If it is all good, I'm not so worried about camber. I just wanted my car to quit yanking across the road and to prevent tire wear. I can't wait to get some tokico struts though.. mmmm.. my comfort level will increase to 1,000,000.
