Rep Power: 0 Bad Tein SS bushing, WTF! (w/pic)
I'm buying a new car in a few months, so this weekend was my weekend to remove my Tein SS, and replace it with my OEM suspension. it didn't go so well...
as you can see in the picture the bushing on my Tein SS is all screwed uP! somehow the bolt siezed to the bushing so when i was unscrewing the bolt it started twisting the bushing all out of shape. i sprayed the whole area with wd-40 but still no luck, the bushing just spins with the bolt!. i was afraid to unscrew it past the welded on nut to the right fearing i'd never get it back in, making my car undriveable. so I'm taking my car to the shop on tuesday asuming the bolt might need to be cut off. nevertheless the bushing is trashed and I'll probably have to send the shock to tein for a new one to get put in.
comments, suggestions..

Rep Power: 388 eh, **** happens to rubber. That is why poly is suggested. Did you take the top mount off first or are you trying to get off the bottom first?

Rep Power: 0 Yes, the center of it is metal. It has to be.
I was told to prevent that from happening during install (for B+G S3 full coilovers), you tighten that bolt once the car is on the ground.
Some inlets like that seem to be made better. I believe B+Gs uses rubber. Hayame uses poly.

Rep Power: 0 arghh just got off the phone with the Mechanic, says he needs to cut the shock to get it out. so now I'll have a set of Tein's minus one rear shock. I called Tein to find out how much it would cost to replace it, they told me $230. this sucks!

Rep Power: 0 yup, same thing mine had to do. See if he can just burn the rubber away and then he should be able to grab the metal inner bushing and hopefully get it apart. Sorry again.
