yeah, thats what i'm talkin' about....i just wanna go down..maybe 2 inches..to make the car look real clean on my 15''s. =) please...anyone w/ info .. thanks! also...do you need to upgrade anything w/ this kit??? or is the kit all you need? thanks
I test drove my friend's car with B&Gs. It rides real nice and goes real low. I'm planning on getting these for my car some time soon. They are speed sensetive as the dampening changes at various speeds. They kind of felt like my Hayame V1s but they may be a bit more comfortable over rugged roads than the Hayames were. I would get these over Teins. I dunno, it seems like almost every company that makes a full-coilover system has issues (Tein SS had quality issues with a few memebers here, JIC-Magic are the absolutely no-no for Nissan 280 owners, Hayame... nuff spoken... KW - this is just an example) - and yet, even though not too many people have B&Gs on this site (as it seems) I haven't heard anything bad about them yet.
I'm not sure if extra parts were needed... 01 uppermount perhaps? Or does it already come with it's own?

tight. you know if you would need to replace anything when putting this kit on??? perhaps needing to upgrade any other part of the suspension....minus sway bars n such? like...lets say your stock now..and u get this kit...what else would you do?
That depends on what you think your car needs. Strut bars front and back are always good. Front and rear anti-sway bar upgrades are more of a personal decision since they vary in size/stiffness/adjustability. The most balanced favored set-up has been the 03 front anti sway bar (16mm) and the RSX rear anti sway bar (19mm). 22mm in the rear if you're good at driving.
If you're just looking for a good ride then do nothing. You've got yourself a set of stiffer springs and stiffer shorter shocks. The car is going to outhandle stock regardless so before you go buying stuff for your car, see how it is without the extras first then make your decision and see how each mod effects your car's characteristics.

thats what i'm guessing....i mean, u get the springs...shocks...but should I change out the struts? sorry for shuch a noobie question...but thats what I am. so thats what I ask. hah but on the real...like...when people buy eibach they get konis n what not....amd I gonna need to get something else...or am I dumb and these are aready set and no need for that kinda stuff? thanks ladies and gentlemen
Change out the strut? Technically what you're seeing is the strut. The "shock" is just the inside workings of it.
When you buy Eibachs you're only getting springs. When you get Konis, you get shocks but you're keeping the stock strut.
When you get full coilovers like these it's spring and new strut (automatically new shocks designed for the spring rate of the new springs). Some just need the 01 uppermounts for them to work.

If you have specific questions on b&gs, pm me. I installed them myself on a saturday on my 2001 and used all the stock hardware. They are running great and there are no noises to speak of at all, knock on wood.

I like the B&Gs, but I'm just wondering if the JDM Teins are built better for our civics. The wide range of height adjustability is a plus, but I don't like tucking my wheels. I get enough mid pipe scrapage with my current drop. You can see pictures in my gallery. The B&Gs ride very stiff and you can feel alot of the irregularities on bad roads. There was an old thread made by me with Mex and inanimatecarbonrod talking about the problems. The main problems were spring noises during slow turns because of the springs twisting and the rubber shock covers get torn up from being caught on the springs. but I heard the Teins also had problems with noise. Performance wise, I think the coil-overs are great. I can't compare them to the Teins though, since I don't have experience with them. But I would think the adjustable rebound/dampning is a big advantage.
I guess a person's choice depends on what he really wants. I want coil-over with avg qualities, meaning one that has pretty good comfort and performance. I also want something easy to use, so all that adjustability in dampning might have given me a bigger headache. I would take the Teins since I heard they ride nicely and there Japanese made. But if the Teins don't allow me to drop to the height I have my car now, I'd take the B&Gs even though the ride is a little too firm for my liking. That's because seeing my car too high would bug the hell out of me everyday...haha. I hope some of this info helped you man.
thats what i got from another member.....anyone else w/ info? Blouisgod - please give us any and all info...so that the rest of us can read it...but if you want a PM...u can get one..haha..i'll just copy and paste it.

That noise can be fixed with grease I heard.
I don't recommend basing an aftermarket company's quality on where it comes from. Remember Hayame?
I think I mentioned earlier in this thread that even Tein has had quality issues with our cars and with people on Honda-Tech. B&G's would be european I suppose, but it seems like every aftermarket company that makes full coilovers has had quality issues to the point that there really is no reliable aftermarket coilover.

Heres an old thread I started a long time ago. Some of the pictures I posted don't work anymore, but some of the other member's pictures do. It's a pretty long *** thread with all the things that the first few people who bought them went through.

guys, here's a bit of info for those with 2002+:
http://www.gametrax.net/b+g/
I made this page after discovering why I was getting noises with my B+Gs-- a problem on my part, not reusing the stock bearing ring. other than my mistake, these coilovers are holding up amazingly well, and I would recommend them to anyone.
<plug> Mid Atlantic meet in one week!! </plug>
btw, you dont ABSOLUTELY have to use the 2001 bearing ring and upper mount.. I still have them installed on my 2002 bearing ring and they're holding up just fine. but if you have the money, using the 2001 bearing ring will allow the spring cap to sit flush.
sorry if I confused anyone.

Hey Mex, you and me went through alot of crap back in the days with B&Gs...haha. I'm glad you got it fixed. I still get a little noise though, but only when I do very slow and big turns out of parking lots. But that's it. It's been like that always. And the shock rubber boots will get torn up..but no big deal.
I have Tein SS and they are awesome. The ride is incredible, it's much smoother and way more controlled than stock. No more tire slippage during acceleration with the wheels turned (like making a left from a stop sign)
As far as height, I have about a 1 1/2 finger gap all around right now. BTW, these go much lower than the 2 1/2 inches someone posted in another thread. When I first installed them I had over an inch of tire tucked into my wheel well, with another inch of threads on the strut (to go lower).
