neuspeed springs question

this is an unusual question, but i need to know what color neuspeed springs are for our cars. i bought the car with springs on it, they are red, and i know he had both sport and race springs on it at different times. the drop is a little low for my tastes, i just wanted to know how low it was before i chose other springs. thanks a lot, its a 2001 civic btw.

sports come in red, race come in red and yellow.
just jack the car up and look for a part number...
tell me what size tires and how much gap and i'll try to guesstimate

i have 205/55/16 tires on there, the car is 5 lug now so i don't know if there is an unusual offset or not (rsx stock wheels). on the back there is really no gap to speak of, the wheel is tucked in under the fender a bit, which bothers me for the poor roads/numerous rail tracks i drive over.

the rear can vary alot.. how about the front?
you bought the car with 5 lug??? crazy...

woah wait you have a sedan? oye that changes things... if you tell me the front i can give you a better guess. for the front 0-.5 finger i would say race. 1.5-2 finger gap i would say sports. but then again i'm pretty skinny . Try checking the part number on the springs to make sure...

yeah i guess i will check the part numbers then.

i bought a 2 door 2001 civic with rsx-s tranny, axles, and, um, engine. i also have a 2002 4 door (first car). so i bet that has you confused.

the rear varying a lot is what pisses me off. is this just a neuspeed thing or will i get this with any brand? any brands that are more consistant than others (i might end up with tein h-tech if i can't find one that will be high enough for my needs...)? also, i get a lot of squeaking in the rear. the previous owner said he took the "rubber pieces" off the stock springs and put them on the new ones. he was unsure if this was neccesary or not, and was also unsure if this was causing some of the squeaking. i apologize for my lack of knowledge in this area, but i have been reading a lot and doing my homework

If it's tucking tire in the rear I would guess Race. Those are the only Neuspeed springs that I have seen that go that low. Another thing to consider is are the shocks Koni's or are they stock. A blown stock shock will also cause it to sit a little lower.

LOL it almost looks like a mixture of both. Imma have to go with sports though. Reason why i say the rear can vary a lot is the rear is more sensitive to weight(whether it be things in the car/trunk or if its on slanted ground). also yeah koni's have 2 different perch settings, along with a few other variables. but yeah just check the part number, shouldnt be too hard to see.

if you say theyre red and the front is that high, id say its sport also. race you would be much lower in the front, from what ive seen.

i'll try adjusting that perch setting i guess. i just had trouble believing these could be sports (1.5 in rear) with that little gap, i couldn't imagine 3 inches if that was the case. is there a link (pref. with pictures) showing this perch? what exactly would i be adjusting?

i will probably get diff. springs anyways, i want a cushier ride, but i don't want to have the same issue if it is the way the shocks are set up.

ok, this might look weird, but i'm planning on putting the stock rear springs on the car, which should raise it around 1.5". is this safe to do? i know it will raise the rear end, but is mixing a set of springs going to cause unforeseen handling problems?

i would say no to mixing springs. they ahve different spring rates and that might mess everything up.

the front is going to be stiffer than the rear than. you want the opposite, the rear stiffer than the front.
Not to mention the rear is going to be really² high

Mixing springs is usually a bad combo. Either put all stock or stay the way you are.
