PSI in air bags?

For anyone out there who has air ride on their car what kind of set up do you have and how many PSI do you usually have to have to get the front and rear up??? I've got the air strut kit from Air Lift and the front will come up with only about 40 PSI or less, but the rear takes usually around 100 to 110 to get it up. The rear also sticks after it has been deflated all the way and sometimes I have to get out and actually pull up on the fenderwell to get it to pop up. Anyone else have this problem or know what it might be??

that is really wierd....the front should take more pressure because it is much heavier. My rear on AIM bags lifts like at 30 and ride hieght around 50 (about 2 inch gap from fender and tire) My front raise around 80 but I have cylinders up front so that is way different. Cylinders require more pressure, bags require more volume.

The front and rear bags are different on mine, think that might have something to do with it? The front has just a normal style bag wrapped around the original strut, but the rear is a complete setup with a new strut and a sleeve bag around it. Do the sleeve bags require more air pressure to inflate? What is ur setup on the rear, is it only bags? and how is the ride quality?

because you may have a sleeve tapered type bag (no donut shaped bellow) it will take more PSI to fill hypothetically. Just like cylinders due to the smaller area size and weight needed to lift the car. I have the "Air Bag It" rear bags with built in shock (1 piece design) Seems like you have the "Universal Air" type bags with a hole in the middle to use with out factory strut. But to answer your question yes the different type bags and the fact that the front and rear weigh different will affect PSI. So you situation with having a higher PSI in rear would be correct.

Thats what I'm thinking. I thought about building some brackets to bolt into the rear to put regular bag on and do away with the whole strut bag setup in the rear. The only thing I'm scared about is the car being bouncy in the rear then. I've got a friend with an S-10 with only bags in the rear and his can be a little bouncy sometimes.

one other question... where did you mount your gauges? I've already got two gauges on the piller and don't want to try to get the air lines up that far. I saw one person had them in the place where the cig lighter goes but I'm thinking mine may go too deep to fit there

i'm using the AIM electrical gauges...they dont work that well but they do get the job done most of the time...i want to change to the regular but like you said room is had to find. The best place i've seen in right above the glove comartment in that large flat area. that would be a great place lots of room under it since its just the ECU and maybe some vents down there.

Don't get regular bags for the rear. It will be bouncy. Mine is, and I'm in the process of looking for a different setup in the rear. If I could, I'd rather get cylinders all around.

i got those AIM rear bags from "airbagit.com" they have built in shocks and they are pretty stiff when I got them on the right PSI and ride great....

blackbullet, sharp ride, but where that **** did you hide ur compressor and valves and everything else??? My trunk looks crazy. I've got lines runnin everywhere and the tank and the compressor all sittin back there. I want to try to get my 15" back in there but there's no way right now. Also what about your setup in the front? You look like ur pretty close to layin frame if ur not already. You don't think cylinders will ride rough do you?
