Spring Compressor Necessary?

Spring Compressor Necessary?
I bought some tein s-tech lowering springs and i was wondering if it was necessary to have a spring compressor. Any help would be great. Thanks.

It would be wise. And considering autozone rents them out for free (just leave a deposit), there's no reason not to have them on hand.

Rep Power: 351 haveing one is a good tool. but not necessary ..quick diy....... for the front un bolt the 2 lower bolts first along with tie rod and break line. then un bolt the the top bolt and tada spring pops right out with out anything hiting ur face loll as for the rear take out the whole set up lay it down "sideways" on the ground and put ur foot on it and unblot the top nut and there u go dont be scared about the rear one nothing will happend just wach for the nut cuzz sometimes when it pop's it can go pretty far.......

Rep Power: 416 thats why just put a towel over it while your doing it... i doubt the nut will shoot through the towel...
If you look at the DIY there's a little clip of a guy taking the nut off without a spring compresser.. you'll see it barely pops off

Rep Power: 316 The fronts you can replace without a spring compressor, there is no resistance of the spring and the strut. The rear though, you will not be able to compress yourself unless you have at least a couple of friends with you.
You could however make a DIY spring compressor with a shirt though hahahaha. If you're reading this, remember MEX?
oh yea, it was a $40 deposit for the compressor, not $20. But no time limit to return or anything, I kept mine for over a month.

Rep Power: 416 using a spring compressor is a waste of time... the one from autozone is so thick that when i tried using it to put the lowering spring on, it got squished by the coils and i couldnt take it off so i had to compress them again in order to take them(the spring compressor) out.
