Mine appeared to be a little out of wack, but tap it in with a rubber mallet. Everything lined up fine once I did that.

You gotta hit it with a mallet, however I was quite surprised with my install it went in with no problems.

Could it be caused by a slight shift in car geometry over time ? If it goes in easily on a brand new car, it could be the cause of the difficulty in installation.

here is waht I had to do to get mine on. I took off the nuts where the bar mounts to the strut tower on both sides of the car. then I installed the bar on the passenger side and just threaded the nuts onto the bolts but I did not tighten them. at this point the bar didnt fit over the other side, just like yours is doing. then I jacked up the drivers side of the car at the front jack point untill the bolts lined up with the hole in the bar, as I recal this took quite a bit of jacking. then I torqued all the bolts back to factory specs (sorry, i dont remember what they were) and had the car aligned. It did need the alignment, although it wasnt terribly out. even with the car lifted like that I did have to force the bar a little, no hammer though. Good luck

why did you need an alignement? did the bar messed up the alignment?

I didnt get one for a while but when i did my alignment guy (he is really good and I have used him for years so I trust him) said that the bar did affect the cars alignment slightly but forcing it straighter. It didnt affect tire wear too much and I didnt notice it in the steering but I figured that if I was going to tell you what all I had done to get it on, I might as well include that

Now that you mention it...I recently had an alignment after getting new tires and neuspeed bar. It was pretty bad before they fixed it.

But my bar took an hour to install. Just try and get it on mostly and use a mallet to gently tap it into place.

Really ? How can a upper front strut bar affect the alignment ? Did the shops tell you why ?

if you have ot force it like that, I am assuming the bar made the strut tower more alingned, perhaps the towers had flexed and become bent a little. It happens to almost all cars.

what's this about having to relocate the clutch reservoir? and where'd you relocate it to? just moved it out of the way of the bar?

well ur supposed to lift up the front to reduce the pressure on the strut towers...
but they said loosen the third nut and lift the front.. then it will move around jsut a little so you can put in the bar

When you jack up the car and move the driver's side strut out to fit the bar, you are altering the suspension geometry on the left side.

is it easier to do it that way....or to just mallet the bar?

Mallet the bar gently, but don't bend it. I wouldn't jack up the car just for a strut bar.

they're pretty bad about instruction... I got one little peice of paper with my neuspeed short shifter and the instructions weren't even for my car.

i just installed mine. bending the clutch reservoir bracket wasn't a problem, but getting the bar to line up on the driver's side was a pain in the ***. i didn't have a rubber mallet, so i just got a towel and covered it up good and tapped it in.

the car handles nicely now.
