Need some help!
OK, sort of a noob question. I had my 01 dx up to Honda yesterday and they told me both front struts are leaking and need to be replaced. So they said the parts will be here in a week or two.
But I am thinking of installing Koni's and eibach sportlines soon. Will honda be replacing the part of the strut that needs to be cut for the koni installation??
If they are, I was thinking I could cut the old leaking strut for the konis and keep the new struts in my garage (maybe tell honda I want to install them myself) so if I want to go back to the stock suspension when I sell the car I can.
Is this possible?

My SL65 rim, because a rim is all I can afford

If the dealer goes with leting you walk out with them... should be.
If you go with the Koni's... go with the Illumina (I think that's how you spell it), well worth the extra $$$, I had the cheaper version and the Illumina's on my '94, it was like nigt and day.

I doubt they'll let you walk out with them for a self install, since you could just sell them on Ebay and they wont get credited from Honda for the work.
Ask them though if you can have the old set for some Koni's you just bought.
Illumina's are made by Tokico. Koni Sports(the yellow ones) are the only ones made by Koni for our cars. The yellows are adjustable and better then their red ones.

OK what you want to do is exactly what I did on my GF's car.
The dealer might need to keep your old struts, sometimes Honda asks for the claimed parts back. But I don't think they do for these shocks.
I asked my friend at Honda for some blown front struts they were going to throw out. I modified those and installed the koni's in them before going for the install. It's easy to do, I covered this in another post.
The dealer didn't mind installing the konis instead and giving me the new shocks in the box. Honda is paying them for the new shocks so they are yours. They charged me just a little bit extra cause they installed the rear shocks at the same time.

OK, the only problem is I wont have the blown shocks until they take them off my car, so I can't cut them before honda goes to work.
I don't think I'd get honda to install koni's anyway, f$#k they charged me $70 to wire a shift ****, so that is the last time I'll get non warranty work done there
