RSX Sway Bar - Squeek after install!
I've searched rigorously through the forum and couldn't find any posts about my problem, so I'm hoping someone can help me. I installed an RSX Type-S sway bar over the weekend. Install went fine, no problems other than the pain in the *** it was to remove the end-link bolts!
At low speeds when cornering, I hear major squeeking coming from the rear end. Has anyone else had this problem? My only thought is that it may be caused by over-torqued end-link bolts. I couldn't fit my torque-wrench in there, so I torqued them up really well - maybe too well? I also read on another post that installing the bar backwards may cause squeeking. Comparing the pictures from the DIY to my car I don't think this is the case - but is it possible that I may have done this, i.e.: will the bar fit if installed backwards?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i have the same problem. i do notice that the creaking goes away after a bit of driving. i have yet to get under there and wd-40 the bushings. i'm guessing, and hoping, that thats all i needa do. i would recheck your endlink bolt for tightness, lube your bushings, and see if that'll do the trick. if not...i dunno...ask a suspension god...boiler, robbclark, vnlilman, etc. post if you solve the problem though!

The creaking has lessened a bit. I'm installing coilovers in about a month, I'll get in there and grease all the bushings. I just wanted to make sure I didn't do anything wrong (over-torque).
Reytito - I'd avoid using WD-40 on the bushings. You're better off using grease. WD-40 washes away and it actually disolves grease.

The stock rubber shouldnt but sometimes when you mess with it it does... I had that problem when I installed my camber kit wrong...
White lithium grease should do the trick.. sorry not sure where to find it tho

My Energy Suspensions bushings came with a little tube of "prelube". I ordered a tub of it through the local Car Parts store. It's made for bushings. Otherwise white lithium grease will work.

I took a peek under there yesterday and realized the problem. I tightened down the bushings BEFORE tightening the end-link bolts. So, the sway bar's ends are ligning up perpendicular to the endlink bolts. I'm going to jack up my car again today and see if I can fix it...

Perpendicular? Then how were you able to tighten the end links and the bar? I did it the same way you describe, bushings 1st, but I did have the bar hanging on the end links though when the bushings were screwed down, but not completely.

I unbolted everything, greased everything, still squeeking like a ****. Only when I'm turning left, at parking-lot speeds on tight corners. Ugh. Not sure what else to do!

UPDATE: I determined that my noise was being caused by the exaust piping hitting the sway bar. I used to have a Magnaflow cat back, sold it and went back stock. When I had the Magnaflow, I slightly modified my exhaust hangers to prevent rubbing with the bumper. This has left me with hangers that are a tad too long - causing a rattle/creak-type of noise when I'm turning hard at low speeds.
I'm going to modify my hangers this weekend and see if that fixes the problem. (I also noticed that someone posted with a similar problem)...

hmm interesting.. i have magnaflow right now. but the noise doesn't sound like exhaust hitting the sway...plus it sounds like it comes from the driver side rear....

My noise is coming from the passenger-side rear. It's gotten more frequent and after listening closely, it does sound like vibrating metal hitting the sway bar. Wiggling my tailpipe made me realize that I have very VERY little clearance between the swaybar and the exhaust.
