Broken shock??
Im almost positive I broke my front left shock yesterday. The roads around here are horrible so im not really suprised. The car is siting at the same height as always, but I have absoloutly no travle from the front left, so it slams off of every tiny bump now. Do you think thats waht it is? I have had neuspeed race springs on the car for like 4 months, and i was going to get some konis this summer... but i dont have the money right now. Does anyone know where i could get cheep shocks just to put in untill summer?
I dont have time to jack up the car and look at it untill tomarow because I gotta work right after i get out of class today....

Other then a full coilover setup, Koni's are the only aftermarket replacement strut and shock. KYB and Tokico havent come out yet. If your looking to go cheap, you might be able to find a used OEM one at a junkyard or online.
You can buy a new one from here for $82.95 before shipping and handling:

danm... If anyone has stock shocks they took out, Im intrested in buying them.
I didnt realise that the oem ones were that expencive... i might just buy konis for the front if i cant find used ones.

That's inexpensive but inefficient. Why would you want another stock strut? It's just gonna blow again - and if it's used then it could just gonna blow sooner. As long as your car is lowered your gonna eventually need stronger shocks.

Would it be under warenty if i put the stock springs back on? Ive had the car since april of 02, and its got 43,000 miles on it. I thought it was only manufacturing defects tat were covered?

43K is out of the 36K warranty. You can ride on a blown shock, it'll ride like ****, but if you have to do it, then the car will hate you, but do it. There's no sense buying something for a month to just take it out again. Either buy the Konis now and put them on a credit card that won't send you a bill until late march/early april or just deal for a couple weeks. OR buy the 2 front Konis, then later buy the 2 rears.

No suspension travel in a shock can either mean the car is too low or there is no working shock.
