I have a 01 civic ex coupe stock. i brought my car into midas (an auto shop) to get the suspension inspected because there is a lot of road noise, ride is horrible, and everytime i go over a bump or something the car bounces and the front end squeeks. They said i needed to replace the front right bearing, and needed new front struts and mounts. They said i would cost $300 for just the bearing and would quote me later on the struts because it was a dealer only item. Is there a place online, or in the north/central new jersey area, where I can get these parts for cheaper, cuz i cant afford to fix it at these prices and the car sounds pretty bad. Thanks.
erm...if you car is under warrantee, why not take it to a dealer? i mean it IS stock right?
if nothing else works, you may as well replace your whole suspension. It will probably cost the same as what Midas is going to charge...

no its not under warrenty, i have around 62k miles on it. what do i have to get to replace to whole suspension? and i dont know much about this stuff, but what difference between shocks and struts? do i need to replace both?
shocks = struts ... er basically, the car comes with shocks/struts and springs, shocks absorb shock, and springs rebound. Since you have the 01's, theres some suspension problems, so the best thing to do is, spend around $650 and get Hayame coilovers (check the group buy section), they are a complete swap for our cars, and I got them on 2 weeks ago. I love em...ride is a little stiff with my 17's, but you should have absolute comfort with stock wheels.

You can get Koni's, but they require modifying the front struts. You have to cut the top off the stock strut housing and insert the Koni cartridge, then dill a hole in the bottom housing and bolt it in. Not hard to do actually if your somewhat mechanically inclined. The rear shocks are a straight remove and replace job.

shocks don't alway equal struts in all cars, but they do in our car. Read the Suspension FAQ for more info. I would replace them with konis even though you aren't racing because the OEM ones are kinda crappy.
