EP3 Sway Bars on 2001 Civic Coupe
My cousin just upgraded his front and rear swaybars on his EP3 (03 SI Hatch) to Progress bars. I have an 01 HX coupe and my car comes with a front sway bar but no rear sway bar...
all he gave me are the bars, bushings, and bolts for the bushings, but no endlinks...
now to my questions...
Is it worth swapping the front bars or is my stock one the same size as the EP3 bar?
Do I need to buy the progress mounting kit for the rear bar? If I do, does the kit come with endlinks?
Or can I make my own "mounting kit" by buying some nuts, bolts, washers, nut-serts, etc.. at a hardware store? and then buy the endlinks separately? (grey's endlinks or stock endlnks from someone with an EX)

the front bar won't fit. The rear bar you will need a mounting kit or you can just drill the holes to make it work if it came with brackets and endlinks. You will need to find a way to put the endlinks to the control arms.
Its a celebration bitches!

^^^ what he said. you should just get upgraded bars with a progress mounting kit or greys kit. that would be the best and easiest way
why do people want to upgrade to stock?
why do people want to upgrade to stock?

^^handling balance^^ I actually downgraded my stock 01 EX front anti-roll bar (25.4mm) to the 03+ OEM 16mm Front anti-roll bar in order to get the handling balance that I wanted.

I know that...some applications it is BETTER to down grade or upgrade to stock, but MOST people are just looking for a CHEAP way to do things.
<----------LIKE ME!!
I said good point to the comment in the abstract. If taken literally, the comment was rather funny. "Why do people want to upgrade to stock?" As though they are BELOW stock...I dunno, I just found it humorous.

im jk, umm yea if you wanna to do it like that.
if i were to change my set up i would have a stiffer rear sway and a smaller front, i would rather have lots of understeer than oversteer. its funner throwing your back end around.
sorry i like my stock leather seats and stock rear brakes... i dont' know what your talking about my car came like that

Sway Bar Specs from my site:
http://www.sceniccityonline.com/arti...ybarspecs.html
PROGRESS SWAY BAR ADAPTER KIT: CIVIC 01-ON (REAR) $115.00
I have this. It works great.

Like robbclark1 said, the front won't fit. Your 2001 has the same size front bar as an Si: 25.4mm. No need to upgrade unless you're going to put a 22mm on the back.
A 19mm rsx bar is a great upgrade from either the stock 2001 12mm bar or no bar at all (DX/HX). Since you got the Si bar for free, it would definately give you some handling benefits, just not as much as the RSX bar would. The Si bar should still be better than the stock 12mm bar, so I say use it. You can always get a bigger bar later!

new question: does the progress mounting/adapter kit come with endlinks?

oversteer causes the "throwing" of your back end...
and i definitely WOULD NOT want lots of understeer because it = hitting the guardrail if your not careful...
and yes, i do want to have a stiffer rear sway and a smaller front, (i don't remember saying i wanted a bigger front?) but like i posted earlier ep3 bar > no bar at all... i'm just trying to balance out my suspension a little bit until i have money to get the progress sway/tie combo...
all the hard work will be done (measuring / drilling / mounting / adjusting) so that once i get the progress bar, it will be a straight bolt-on...

You'll need the left and right side bushing holders (#6,7), two bushings (#5), and four bolts (#31). I think the Progress kit may come with the bolts, but I can't remember. They're only like 50¢ anyway.

another thing you may want to look in to is downsizing your front bar, I went from the 25.4mm front bar to the (OEM 03+) 16mm front bar. made a world of difference.

yea i mean over steer... opps
haha, yea somethings i say something from what i really mean, and when i only had the rear progresss bar, it was fun because i knew how to control my car with throwing the back end around, you just need to know your limits.yea it wil;l be a straight bolt on after all the work
and no im not talking about the FP package, i mean that i upgraded my rear drums to si discs and i also have rsx type S leather seaats
