help with a decision.

alright i have a 2001 LX sedan. i have 18's 215/40 dropped with ground control sleeve coilovers. now my car is bouncey. i think i have had my car dropped for about 1 year with stock shocks. what should i do to get rid of the bounciness? i want a smooth ride.

i was thinking of 2 options.

1) buy koni yellows. the idea i dont like it the modification on stock struts? im not too sure, sorry im a nub at this stuff. (if anyone knows a good place please recommened where to get and price) i havent researched koni yellows yet.

or

2) buy neuspeed sport springs. ive been reading that this is the best spring out there for sedans with decent drop and smooth ride with stock shocks. but wouldnt i eventually end up buying new stock shocks or perfomance shocks?

another note: since i got the gc's for stocks, would i need an adapter for the koni yellows?

thanx for the help in advanced.

well buying the springs won't help you any. The ride will still be bouncy. So get the Konis. And yes you will need an adaptor.

Or you can get the hayame's or tein basics and sell your GCs and come out even. Those are true coils that will swap right in.

TRUST ME...I've got Neuspeed Race springs and my rear shox blew in about a WEEK..so

IT'S HAYAME'S FOR ME..!!!

I suggest you do the same...go to rob at robearracing.com and talk to him, he'll hook you up.

If you don't want to do that, just get the Koni's...I hear they're well worth it!

My $0.02

eh swapping it out to neuspeed sports, wont make it bouncy. I had ground controls too, i know what bouncy is... Only thing I dont recommend you getting springs is your probably dropped pretty low with ground controls and you wont like the drop the neuspeed sports give you. And ya your eventually going to have to get new shocks anyways so might as well do it right the first time. Well in this case, the 2nd time...

there are 2 things that cause bounce and both deal with the shocks inablity to control the spring

1. the shock is to weak for the rate of the spring, allowing it to bounce after hitting a bump. (Solution, get higher valved shocks)
2. the shock does not have enough travel to properly control the spring causing it to bounce(solution, Raise the ride height of the car to allow more shock travel)

For you, probably the cheepiest and easiest solution is to pick up a set of Konis.

I have them on my car and here's my review..
http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...hreadid=134001
They go for around $650 shipped. They just offer a lot for a low low price. Right now only shock out there are koni inserts and the only alternative to those are going the full coilover(coilovers that come with shocks) route. Most coilovers run 800-1200 but these are only 650. plus ya they offer an adjustable shock length so you dont bottom out and such. just read my review and you'll get the full details...

btw, there's a meet down in eaglerock which is like 15 mins away from you on saturday, feb 21st. there's 40 cars signed up so far, might want to check it out. goto the socal section for more info
