Coilovers - Comparison
I'd like to get the pro's & con's between these three sets in a single post...
Tein SS
Hayame
KW's
Ignoring price, what is your opinion on the manufacturer's reputation...build quality of the product...durability...ease of installation, etc.

tein ss-cant say, never used tein, dont know any one who has. good reputation tho, expensive,
hayame-cheap,fairly good rep built over the last few years since 1997, tokico shocks, billet construction, 0"-4" drop, shocks replaceable, 1 year warrenty, camber adjustablity, upper mounts included, cant adjust dampening, smaller company, no one has tested them over time, some sets have fitment issues
kw-nice ride, good handling, has "helper spring" solid construction, has upper mount option, can have your own spring rates, stainless steel, company very active in race scene-like tein, guys at kw are helpfull and polite, heard there has been a few fitment issues on 2003's---(seems like evry suspension part has issues on the 2003's)
my advice= read alot of the thread here, and judge off other peoples reviews, on how they like or dislike what they are using. if you find a brand you like talk to some people who have them and get there feedback, then talk to the manufacture, and go with you you think is best at the end.

Thanks for the post. I have been reading extensively in the suspension forums for several days but thought it would be much easier to get the info on these three together in a single thread.
Thanks again. Keep the info coming!

they will all swap in. Ease of installation should be the same for all of them. Tiens and KWs are both very reputable companies, with Teins being slightly higher because KW has just jumped into the US market. Hayame's reputation/reliability has yet to be seen. The hayames are also do not have adjustable dampening so they are more comprable to the Tein Basics. Most people will say Teins because of their reputation. But for $650 for the hayames...that is a pretty good deal, especially if you don't plan on racing on them. They are more "show" coilovers.
