I've never pulled the boot off of ours before but It possibly has a small metal crush collar built into the rubber. But they still should be fairly easy to pop off. Some cars have a small wire thats wraped around the boot where it meets the joint to hold it in place. And some have nothing at all !

you mean you put it on using the tie rod seperator?
do you think you can take it off using that as well?
Instructions on how to replace Tie Rod End boot from the Helms...
Special Tools Required
Attachment, 42mm 07QAD-P0A0100
1. Remove the boot from the tie-rod end, wipe the old grease off the ball pin
2. Pack the lower area of the ball pin with fresh Multipurpose grease.
3. Pack the interior of the new boot and lip with fresh multipurpose grease
Note these items when installing new grease:
*Keep grease off the boot mounting area and tapered section of the ball pin
*Do not allow dust, dirt, or other foreign materials to enter the boot
4. Install the new boot using the speical tool. The boot must not have a gap at the boot installation sections. After installing the boot, check the ball pin tapered section for grease contamination, and wipe it if necessary
Now anyone actually try it?

Safety warning. You cannot replace just the boot alone. It is specially fitted from the factory i have heard. I put it on partially, not snug fit, and had a tie rod failure which gave me a near death experience on the highway. Just a warning, I would replace the whole tie rod end.
