Does anyone have the new Progress front sway bar?
I am specifically talking about their newer design (which is supposed to fit an EX).....I have the older style (made for an LX, but it is gray so its still fairly new).....I'm running into problems with it and my magnaflow exhaust system (right turn rattles). How much larger is the cutout in the newer bar than the older one? Does anyone have any pictures of the newer one? Anyone interested in buying my LX bar from me?
I've got an ex and I should be getting the progress front sway tomorrow or the day after. I'll be putting it on this weekend, and I can take pics if you'd like. I don't know how to upload them to this site, but i can e-mail them or something

Progress doesn't seem to have great technical support, I've emailed them about the differences last week sometime, and I still have no reply...Hopefully half_n_half17 will ome through and we'll see some photos!

I have the new progress font sway bar, it has plenty of clearance since the cat on the EX sits right there, I don't have any pics, but I don't get any rattles and there was still clearance on each side of the cat before the bar...
The UPS site says the bars were delivered today.... i'll be home on saturday to take pics before/during/after installation... just gotta remember to bring my camera.... IDQcivic, how long did the install take? and did u have any trouble?

Cool - I just wish I could sell my old bar and get a fair amount of money for it (its practically brand new)......what a shame progress won't take it back and exchange it for the new ones.....

Yeah - I talked to them about a month or two ago and asked if they would exchange it, but they won't. Its not like its extremely expensive, but whose going to want to buy the old one from me now that the newer design is out.....

the install take about an hour if you are good with working on things and have the right tools... the hardest part is removing the nut on the end links because you have to put a hex-head bit in the center and hold that and then use a wrench to turn the nut and its probably pretty rusted, just spray them down with wd-40 as soon as you jack the car up and let the nuts soak while you loosen the other nuts under the car, and by that time the endlink nuts should be easier to remove. Oh and you might have to disconnect the downpipe from the header to swap bars... good luck with the install!

I already have the bar installed. I bought it from Ptuning last year around June (I believe). When you called them, what did you tell them exactly? I am just curious......

I had mine installed too.. I called them, explained the situation, and they said to send it back, and then they sent me a new bar... it was that easy.... since they are the one that messed up with the design, they are repsonsible to replace the old bar with the new bar, if not do a charge back on your CC and see how they like it....
what is the part # for the NEW bar? i have the 61.1006, it isn't coral colored, its graphite grey, and i called up progress, and they said all the new bars will be graphite grey colored @_@
now i'm all confused...

Do you have an EX (or did you tell them you had an EX)? That may be the main reason they didn't charge you......I may just tell them I have an EX and see if they will exchange it...

Yeah I have an EX, they were glad to do it for me, could be because I got it from optauto because they are an authorized dealer, so depending on where you got it, it might all depend.
So after hours of trying to install my progress front sway bar, I finally figured out that I ordered the wrong one. I have the one for the non-ex. Grrrrr.... Guess i'll have to call tornactive and see what I can do about it. The rear one went in pretty easily tho

According to Progress, the new one was supposed to replace the old one - and was released sometime around last June....Are you sure you received an older bar? This is why I wanted photos of the new one - so I could see the difference in how wide the cutout was...
yeah man... if you look at the picture of the progress bar on tornactive it's a lot wider than the old bar. I recieved part number 610102, which is the old bar
and I can't find anywhere that sells the new one. I talked to Rob from tornactive and he said that he doesn't have any of the 601016's in stock.

Check my sig for the bar install, I have an HX which has the cat in the same place the the EX. It has pictures of the bar as well as the part number and everything.
Yeah and the bastards at progress weren't willing to replace the old one. They said that they had the new bar out since june and that all of their dealers should have them in stock. I'm just glad that rob is willing to let me return the bar. damn progress.
