if you don't need it than no. They have the same spring rates. They only differ in that the SS you can adjust the dampening. If you don't plan on doing any racing, then just save your money and get the basic.
whats adjustable valving and all this dampening stuff. i have this same question cuz im gonna get some suspension and im not sure either basic or ss. All i want is to drop it and have a nice look. I wont be changing it once its on my car. once its dropped, its dropped. i dunno what all this dampening stuff does? im just using this for daily driving and thats it. what u all think
BASIC is good for the everyday worker/driver just for looks type of suspension.
SS is good for someone who is looking to run at the track on the weekend or maye do some good mountain driving.
They are both VERY good tools for the suspension of your vehicle. Just depends on budet and how mch you really use them.
PS.
We are offering 5% off and FREE SHIPPING on TEIN products.

I had tein ss. Dampening adjustable wasnt worth it for me. I never even changed mine since first day. Go with basic and save some cash.

they drop the same! they are the exact same thing except you cant change the dampening.
adjusting the dampening is changing how hard or soft a shock reacts to a bump. So you can change them 15 ways from soft to hard. You want softer for daily driving and harder for track days. Like Rob said, the SS is more for a daily driver who likes to do an occasional autox, drag, or road race. The basic is more for show.

personally I'd take the KW v2 over the tein SS. why?? its a matter of spring rates.... the KWs look to be more Performance handling tuned.
