Threatcon13, i sent a message to robclark about our conversation. Just make sure you keep it clear that the members are not "your" customers that you are trying to provide customer service for. Honestly I feel that it is not a problem for you trying to help members out, but be careful with the words you use. Try not to bargain prices against our own vendors. Maybe just give members, not customers, the address or a phone number to the place you know of and leave it at that.

So I drive an 2002 coupe, what if I just get the BASIC itself? Will it install into my vehicle, perfect fit? OR would I HAVE TO get the "others" (mounts or what not)???

And the part #'s posted earlier, where do I find those parts?

Re: Tien SS or Tien Basic?

it depends if you have metal upper strut bearings if so you need the oem plastc ones 45 shiped online 52 each at a dealer.some coilovers do not require these but if they do you definitely need them for a proper fit otherwise you get nasty metal crunching noises when turning .also tien is so f**kin overrated they were good before they started out sourceing in tiawan. the basics dont go very low and blow easily .atleast get the ss if not something better. as for parts you need front and back alignment kits, and depending how low you go you mite need inverted tie rods for bump steer and you need to upgrade your front compliance bushings get energy suspension and think about getting some roll center adjusters .i got my full progress comps and front and rear ingalls camber kit at www.corsportusa.com and the front strut bearings at www.hondapartsdeals.com

Re: Tien SS or Tien Basic?

WOW. I have tanabe lowering springs and stock shocks. I was thinking of just getting some blues but figured i'd just buy coilovers for the extra buck. i didnt realize how much more i needed than just the coilovers. maybe i'll just get some blues.
thanks

Re: Tien SS or Tien Basic?

i dont know i was thinking of some day hopefully getting into autoX. Instead of spending money on just shocks then later down the road buying coilover i figured id get them now.
and i heard blues are only OK.
how about with these:
http://www.meganracingperformance.co...t-p-66632.html
will i need any extra parts.

Re: Tien SS or Tien Basic?

do not get meagan coilovers they are garbage very unreliable and wast of money they come out of tiawan .stay away from skunk 2,D2.meagan.there are better coils out there for the same price if not 100 bucks mor . if it says 32 way adjustable dont by it.

What do you recommend then? Or are you a separate shocks and springs person.

Re: Tien SS or Tien Basic?

autox first before you spend money on new suspension setup. dont buy a setup that will shoot you into a class where you have no chance because of driver skills, inexperience (no offense). it just wont be as fun if youre getting run over by all the other drivers in your class. then when you start understanding handling dynamics and gain more experience, you can consider upgrading parts based on your preferences as a driver. and you wont consider those megans or teins! lol
but really learn to drive the car first!
