Exclamation Desparate for help!

I have a problem with my steering wheel after i install a new momo steering wheel (350 mm diameter) and Apex springs and Koni yellows.

The problem is that the steer feels way too heavy. Much heavier than cars without the power steering wheel. At slow speeds (5 to 10 mph) it is a bit lighter but when its on the move oh man its freakin heavy!

I asked many people and they say that the problem came from the steer w. But you see i have had the experience of using a small steer w before and i dont seem to have this problem. And some of them said that i need a wheel alignment because after installing new springs for a week or so it would settle and needed an alignment. It is the camber angle they say that caused this mess.

I'm driving a sedan with factory wheels and rubber.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

This happened since the first week i installed the springs and shocks.

Please help

has to be a top mount issue. is it just hard to turn or do you have to turn it alot in order for it to turn a little?(eh but then this might be hard to compare because of your new steering wheel).

i'm just thinking it has to do with the bearings(or plates if you have an 01). i'm kinda thinking you have an 01 and its not greased up properly.

i understand that a smaller steering w requires more turns than a bigger one. but my case is that it is hard to turn (heavy, what i prefer to call). and my civ is 03 manual sedan.

thank you for your effort and if you know anything more please help me out, i'm kind of desperate. I'm driving in this condition for about 3 months now and i'm startin to have blisters on my hands.

oh and i haven't had an alignment since the first time that it is done right after intalling the
goods.

First things first the alignment should have been checked ASAP after the spring changes. Second to help figure out the problem disconnect 1 tie rod end at a time from the strut and check to see if the steering gets LOTS easier or not ( this would be with the car on jack stands of course). If it does then its either the bearing plate on the strut or the ball joint. If the steering doesnt get easier with both tie rods disconnected. I would then look for an issue with the rack and pinion or the steering collum. This is all under the assumption that its not just beacuse of the size of your steering wheel. As for the alignment causing stiff steering its possible but it would have to be severly out most likely. I'm also assuming that your car has power steering and the belt is on and has proper pressure and flow. Hope that gives you some ideas on what to look for.
