What do I need to PROPERLY drop my car?

Hi, I am thinking of lowering my car..not much, about 1.5-2 inches. I don't want to have to shave my wheel wells or whatever, or do anything liek that. What exactly do I need? I know nothing about lowering or suspension work. Do I need to replace my struts? I don't want my stock stuff to go bad, so I'd rather just buy everything now, and do it right. Hope someone can offer some advice, Thanks

First off, welcome to the site. Please read the FAQ in my signature and the Suspension Tuning 101 above by Zzyzx. Those will help you out. Then search around, read posts, and learn. There are many ways to go about lowering your car and it is important that you do them right. You came to the right place, but before everyone jumps down your throat, go about searching the whole site for information you want to know. If you are still confused come back and ask questions. Thank you.
