blown strut or bad springs?

for a while now, my rear wheels have been scraping the fender when i make a turn too hard or when i go over long bumps at high speed. i always assumed it was my struts blew up like the rest of the guys believe on this site, and was ready to change it.

the other day while i was doing my tire rotation, i examined the rear springs, and noticed their integrity maybe in question, the bottom coil have rust built up on it, make me believe the spring has been bottoming out waaaaay too often. i have not come in conclusion on rather it's my springs or the struts. i did the bounce test and the car seems fine, so i assume the struts maybe still okay? could my rear be contributed by the springs and the struts failing?

i have neuspeed sport rear with factory struts.

i am going to ask the honda tech and a couple other guys at school tomorrow when i go, see what they think of it.

my first guess would still be that the shocks are going bad. Now your springs may corrode a little but it should not affect the integrity of them that much. Now i am not saying they are blown, but they get weaker the more stress you put them through.

rust is just rust.... and it would take years and years of corrosion to make a difference to a spring. Most likly the shocks are going....

"Going over long bumps at high speed". Yep, I'm thinking blown struts.
