whats the difference?

between the two koni struts. one has an outer diameter of 50.5 mm and one has the outer diameter of 53.8 mm. i realize the difference is the outer diameter. i guess i worded it wrong. i mean, why is there 2 different outer diameters?

i am going to purchase these possibly tomorrow if the price is right. a hookup of mine can get them for cost from tirerack so i need to know which to get, the 50.5 mm or the 53.8 mm.

hmm, ya i never noticed it before either until tonight i was just looking around on the site and was like wtf? maybe the 03s or 04s have different outer diameters?? i dunno, just a guess.

btw, this is what im talking about.....linky

*edit- my therory doesnt make much sense however because i searched for parts for a 2002 not an 03 or 04 . also, i thought maybe it is just for the coupes, but the sedan comes up with the same results, so i dunno.

One is intended for the RSX (58) and the other is for the Civic(51). But since Honda started sprinkling RSX struts into the Civics in mid-02, measure your struts before you buy.

oh alright. thanks for the input, guess ill have to measure. just a quick question though, the numbers in parenthesis in your post, is that the size of the strut? cause that is now what tire rack has listed. they have 50 and 53 not 58 and 51.

Blah... I can't read. I saw 53.8 and flipped the numbers. I've been crunching Fluids equations all night... bare with me.
