some think 2 inches is too much of a drop (because they have a kit and scrape everywhere) while others think its not enough because there is still a small wheel well gap with 205/40/17 tires...

yeah, definately get a camber kit, or you'll mess up your tires really really fast.
My opinion: 2.0+ is mostly for show, but maybe that's what you want.
