Springs...

I have searched and I haven't found any direct answers on this subject.... I am getting springs for my car soon (I'm gonna be getting new struts but that is also another topic) For right now I am looking between:
Eibach Pro-Kit
Tein ?? (dunno what ones though)
Any other ideas? I want something stiff and race inspired. I wanted the Skunk2's but i'll have to much trouble down the road with them.

if you get stiff springs, you're going to need shocks to control them (Stock ones wont be able to). So add a set of Konis to your list.

also, what do you want form these springs? a lowered ride or better handling?

There is such thing as a too much or too little of a drop. I think the sportlines or the neuspeed race are much better. They are stiffer than most. I think goldlines and progress are kind of soft from what I hear. I think they should start putting spring rates on their websites! ARG!! the prokit won't do very much at all. It will give you a nicer stance and some improved handling, but not that much.

Those Tein's are to soft for me, I need stiff... what are the Eibach Pro-Kits rated at? If it helps I have a Buddy Club 2 kit being put on the car as we speak. I am not sure how much that is going to lower my car. I need something good for race.

they'll probably be fine. Your talking about KW's right? 350lb/in front 500lb/in rear. they should be good for autocross.

This is basically the deal, if you want to know spring rates, you gotta call all the companies that you're interested in. No one really posts them. The only spring rate I know of is the RS*R Down springs, they're like 189/357. Other than that, Tein lists their coilover rates, so does JIC, but they're going to be substantially stiffer than a set of sport springs because they're oriented towards racing. Just look up numbers for Eibach, H&R, Neuspeed, etc... and call them. Thats the only way you can find out the info.

I'm currently on a set of H&R sport springs. they give a moderate drop with a decent increace in spring rate. not sure what that spring rate is but it is stiffer then stock.

if you're just looking for #'s then I'd copy on of the coilover setups availble.... Like Tein SS or Basic 336/448 just konw that the stock valving of the koni yellow that are avaible to us are only good to about 450 lb/in. any higher and you'll need to have Koni revalve the shock for the harder spring.

Goldine
1.75" Front:290
1.75"(edit i think the new designed springs are 1.67" i just called again) Rear:175

Neuspeed - sport springs
1.75" Front: 200
1.5" Rear: 340

RS*R Down springs
Front 189
Rear 357

Tein SS /Basic
Front: 336
Rear: 448
Tien S tech springs
1.5" Front 157
1.4" Rear 291

Eibach Would not tell me their spring rates but they gave me percentages of how much stiffer over stock.

Sportlines:
1.4"Front: 20-25%
1.4" Rear """

Pro Kit
1.0" Front: 10-15%
1.0" Rear: 10-15%

Wow, thx for the helpful info - Gave me an idea - Maybe we can make a "suspension/spring" database here!
