ok.. so the v3's the spring rates the same as v2's, just, total shock adjust. is the diff? or the springs themselves stiffer? what is inside the shocks? on all kw's? gas? if so witch gas is in there?
last 2 things
what rear camber kit do u guys at kw recommend?
is there still some r&d going on for makin a pillow ball, or is this new bearing, the end?

no one knows the spring rates on the v3s yet. The v3s have rebound and compression adjustment where as the v2s only have compression adjustment. The pillowball is extra and is supposedly different the standard pillowballs. SPC, Ingalls, or Revo will do fine for camber kits.

say what? according to a pm from mr kw.... the pillow ball mounts are still in R&D. i want to know if there done, or whats up with em. ie is this new bearing being released mean theyre not gonna release the pillows?
gotch ya on the spring rates.... i didnt see any thing on there site bout the spring rates or on this new bearing. so i was curious if any one here knew some secret info.

dude where have i been... you guys are stealing my spotlight... haha j/m with you zzyxz and robb...
reason why the front would have camber adjustment and not the rear is.... look at the spc camber kit. the front is just a set of bolts right... all that bolt does is angles how the whole strut is mounted. angle being the camber...
rear: we need new control arms(? sorry never knew the exact term for it). the camber isnt directly related to how the strut is mounted like the front is. camber is adjusted by the angle of the hub. so ya its not possible to make a camber kit for the rear on the kw setup.

oh also pillowmounts free? come on... this is the same exact thing that comes with the jic flt-a2s and tein flex(i think). it aids in giving you a stiffer suspension since you dont have any mushy rubber peices.
that is 100% correct everything u said is true the rear has to be corrected using a control arm replacement which has to be longer than the stock peice....and the front there is no upper control arm like on the older civics the camber is controled by the angle of the strut...

if you know how to weld you can just longate the control arm yourself. one member here has done it... nice cheap and effective...
the front i suppose you can just sand/drill the hole thats already there. but then why when its only $20...

I'm curious as to the big difference in the tein pillowball and the new KW upper mounts.... I don't think it makes a significant difference, but somebody might know beter.
bang for buck, I think if the portugese racing team is using these upper mounts, they're damn good enough for my street car...
With these new upper mounts I think the KWs are in the same playing field as the Tein Flex... the only thing the tein flex had before was the upper mount, but now It's about equal, give and take different strengths/weaknesses.
Tein Flex:
Pro: EDFC possibility, slightly heavier spring rate, Technically a pillowball
Con: not stainless steel, green
, cost more, havent heard from any tein reps in our forums yet :-/
KW:
Pro: Stainless Steel, Single lower locking spring perch (not two twist together type), helper+main spring, cost less, portugese racing team uses them, JR uses them, hot purple and yellow, out in the community, greater front to back spring ratio
Con: not technically a pillowball (though I think it matters not)
Feel free to expand, I'm prolly a little KW biased
from the ephatch thread, referring to weight, apparently the KWs are much lighter also:
36.6 refers to the KW weight in lbs

36.6! THats really light! I've got estimates of JIC at ~55, and Tein FLEX at ~64. You guys should be really proud!

though i like the sound of the v3's and the upper mounts. I dont think KW is offering as much as other companies like the Tein flex or the JIC's FLT-A's. The JICs come with camber plates and pillowball upper mounts. For hardcore racers camber plates are a very good option. The v3's have yet to be released and no one knows the spring rate. If KW is offering the V'3s at slightly higher spring rates with camber plates and pillowballs, then those would be a great package. I don't want to spend $1500 on the V3's then have to invest $500 on camber plates and pillowball mounts. I could get the JICs at that price. Any information Glen??
tein also has the camber plate and rear pillowball does the kw have a rear or is it just for the front camber adjustment??? ive been toolin around with my teins a lil bit they ride better than the apexi n1s in my buddies 99 si i can say that they are very stiff and i dont mind the twist together perch it works well with the kws can u go turn the shock/strut into the lower mount like the teins? to keep the same stroke of the dampers?
just got mine in the mail
The only thing is that mine looks nothing like whats pictured, and also the camber is adjustable?! Did I get the wrong one? Glen, help me out here, I'm scared to take mine apart just to find out that this is the wrong one.

Ok here's my questions:
I heard somewhere that KW's where mainly for racing and motorcross not for street use. is this true?
If they are a good product for street use, Is the damper adjustable? If I understand all this suspension stuff correctly the dampaning is what determines if the car rides stiff or not, or am I wrong? If Im wrong what determines for a smoother ride?
Also if Im not mistaking Tein dosent make the Flex series for our cars yet so Im looking into getting either the Tein SS or the KW's with the new upper bearings if anyone can tell me wether their good for street use or not.
I was looking into getting the Tein Basics because of the cost but from reading some comments it seems t o ride a little stiff and riding in the car wit my daughter I dont want that.
Thanx in advanced.

just installed the v2 2 days ago, still havent do alignment yet, doing it tomorrow and i can see if the ride is comfortable or not since i have MAJOR toe out and every spec of alignment is off for now. i have adjust to about 60% damping stiffness, and the ride is ok, of course its alot harsh that stock suspension, but right now it feel fine, probably gonna try out about 20% stiffness tomrorow to see if it will greatly improve the ride quality, as for performace i really dunno since im dragging my tires all the way now due to the major toe out, will post a review tomorrow once alignment is done

The ones everyone received have a new bearing system as well as castor adjustment, and as always, the camber is adjusted on the lower mount.
If you have any more questions, just give me a call

I was going to order them a while back, had the $ ready, but they were out, so I wasn't going to put down $ to wait, so never got around to getting them, but I'd be interested in a review too.
I read somewhere they have now a camber adjustment system or something for our cars? And that the V3 are out now? Any other general KW updates?

i have 'em.
i wouldnt know how to rate them though........ b/c i never had my suspension on stock upper mounts. so i wouldnt know how to compare 'em
all i can say is that the handling is amazing and stiff on the circuit.
going to hit up autocross next.
