Need help finishing off recent suspension mods-wheel spacers or sway bars?

I just went to work on my suspension (lowered, strut replaced, etcc) and was pondering the notion of H&R Track+ wheel spacers and/or sway bars. I want a really stiff steering wheel and some more control and less tweaking of the steering wheel every time I go over uneven roads... do i need both or one or the other? I'm thinking more on the line of wheel spacers but are there any cons to go with the pros?

??? wheel spacers affect weight transfer not steering responce......

and, the stiffer you make your suspension the more it will "track" (Follow the bumps in the road). Its just some thing you have to be aware of.

Also, anit-rollbars (Sway bars) affect weight transfer too.

So, I dont think either is going to give you what you are looking for.

For a stiff steering wheel, Disconnect the power steering. or get a different steering rack (I dont konw if there are any others) More control comes from you knowing your car and how far it can be pushed (You'd be supprised as to how far a stock car can be pushed with the right driver). the best way to increace your control of your car is to try autocross, or maybe a PDS (Performance Driving School).

Looks like you're heading in the right direction, but just need more Info on Vehicle Dynamics.

THis might help you out

The only reason to need spacers is because you ****ed up when you bought the wheels. You put those in so the wheels can clear the brake calipers if you didn't get enough offset. So if your clearances workout, then the spacers are completely useless.
But yeah... if you want firmer steering, you're going to have to go into the steering system. Stiffer springs and sway bars will make the car more responsive, but its not going to change the feel of the steering.

spacers...gross...makes your wheels stick out of your body...look like a turtle... >_<

and also wut boiler, and zzyzx said...none of things u mentioned will affect the stiffness of your steering wheel.

You dun want it to glitch so much when u are on uneven road? grip on tighter to the wheel... ^_^

sway bars are usually easy to install espeically the rear. The most recommended kit so far has been the Progres front and rear set up. You have to be careful if you have an aftermarket exhaust because it might bang against it. Look at the FAQ in my sig for my options on sway bars.
