Lowering springs for sedans

(If it matters I'm talking about an 02 EX sedan)

So far I've seen these:

Goldline (1.75" F/R)
Neuspeed Sport (1.75F/1.5R)
Neuspeed Race (2.25F/2.0R)
Eibach Sportline (1.4" F/R) ( these said "All" does that mean coupe AND sedan?)
Eibach Pro Kit (1" F/R) (these also said "all")
Tien S. (says 01-up all) (these give no drop level. That's strange)

Alright. Questions:

1. What do you have, and what is your review? (and how much did you pay?)
2. Why do some have different front and rear drop levels?
3. A number like 1.5" means is is 1.5" lower than stock, right?
4. What kind of shocks did you get, and do certain shocks work better with certain drop levels.

Thanks.

drop galley.
tein s tech drop f1.30 r1.40
i would go with neuspeed sports. since you have sedan and those springs are made for sedans.

"Do I have to get new struts as well?
Besides worrying about your shocks blowing, do you care about the ride quality? The ride on lowering springs is never going to be the same as stock. Their going to be stiffer and your going to feel more bumps. It will probably be more bouncy as well. Usually the lower the drop, the worse the quality and sport springs are going to be worse then race. Aftermarket shocks or even shorter shocks are going to improve the ride quality. Right now the only ones available for our cars are Konis(these are inserts so you'll have to modify your stock struts in order to put these on your car because these are not full struts)."

Neuspeed Sports w/ OEM Shocks w/ 205/40/17 tires. When I still had my steelies, they felt great! The ride seemed to be BETTER than stock, believe it or not. Then I added some rims with rubber band tires, and now I feel everything in the road! I take on/off ramps fast, everything is good. No complaints. I have about 2 finger gap in front and 1.5 finger gap in the back though, so I wish that would be less. Its perfect if you plan to get a body kit. I paid $140 shipped to my door a year ago from a site called aieonline.com or something like that.
I had to get a camber kit in the rear, so I bought Ingalls adjustable for $150. So far so good!

I forgot to mention, I want to keep stock size wheels.

No body kit.

And I don't want a huge "slammed look." I just want a little lower than stock.

So what are these people using for the huge drops, like where the top of the wheel disappears behind the fender? That's not what I want, I'm just curious. And how much of a drop in inches is that?

depends what size tires you are running . i had 215/45/17 my drop was pretty low. im guessing around 2 with tein ss fullcoilovers.

heres futurersxswap's ride
19s 215/35/19 dropped with gc sleeved coilovers (im guessing 2.5' drop. probably more)

just get neusped sports. safest best for your sedan
heres drop with goldline springs btw

1. What do you have, and what is your review? (and how much did you pay?)
I got Sportlines on my sedan. I like the drop. It's ends up to be actually lower than 1.4. I think someone around here said 1.4 is the measurement BEFORE the springs settle. After it settles, it's more like 1.75 or closer to 2.

2. Why do some have different front and rear drop levels?
Springs made especially for sedans drop less in the rear because our rears are heavily than coupe rears. Someone correct me if that's wrong. Also, if you got a heavy system in the back, it'll weigh your rear down too. Personally, I didn't encounter this problem - no heavy system. *shrugs*

3. A number like 1.5" means is is 1.5" lower than stock, right?
Not sure about other spring makers, but for Eibach springs 1.4 doesn't necessarily mean 1.4 lower than stock. Like I mentioned before, 1.4 is the height BEFORE the springs settle. On the same note, 1 inch drop for the Pro-Kit most likely doesn't mean they only lower an inch either.

4. What kind of shocks did you get, and do certain shocks work better with certain drop levels?
I got Koni Yellow, just cause they're the only shocks out for us right now. Seeing that you'll eventually need shocks anyways, I got them from the beginning to save money and effort from two different installation costs. Instead, I installed shocks and springs all at once. The rear perch of the Koni Yellows can be set to the higher level to increase by an inch or so though. This can help compensate the rear height if it ends up to be lower than the front. If I'm not mistaken, those KYB shocks on Ebay are made to be replacement shocks for stock height, NOT FOR LOWERING!!!

Alright, hope that helps.

If you're going with stock wheels, definitely go with Neuspeed Sports man! I'm telling you, you won't be sorry. As for the other springs, I can't say anything about them b/c I've never had any experience with them. But Neuspeeds are what I have in my book...

Awesome reply. Thanks.

I know that larger aftermarket wheels make a drop look better, but I have no desire to get larger wheels. I think the Neuspeed sports look pretty good with stock sized wheels.

How much do Koni yellows run? Like $300 total for both front and back right?

Neuspeed Sports w/o rims... Dang this pic is old! The car would actually be prob 1/2" lower, b/c it takes time for the springs to settle.

I have the ultimate solution to the question.
Don't buy a sedan.....then you won't need any springs.
Get a coupe and drop...they look better.

^you dont make any sense...
"get coupe and drop". you still need new springs to lower the car.
get a coupe? wtf.. kinda an ignorant post dont you think...

most people know my answer.. neuspeed sports for sedan...
eibach, my friends rear sagged on his sedan.
basically most springs with only one application for both coupe and sedan will sag because the springs are mainly designed for coupes. sure they fit sedans but that doesnt mean it looks nice...
