Noise on Neuspeed Race

I have a 2003 civic coupe and lowered with Neuspeed race springs paired with Koni Shocks. I've had it lowered for a few months now. At first I got it lowered, everything was fine, but now there's this annoying noise when i make a turn (sounds like the springs are loose) It does not make any noise when cruising straight on a very good road though. Anybody know what I need to do to get rid of the annoying noise??Should I get a new springs?

might need coil wrap. IT is a thin sheeth that goes around the bottom of the coils (where they all are touching) to stop them from grinding together.

I am getting a similar noise too after using H&R 2" drop springs and Koni yellows. To me it almost sounds like something in the steering linkage is binding. I mainly hear it when hitting a bump or grade change with the wheels turned.

If you read your Neuspeed manual it will tell you that it is supposed to make that noise. The cause is that the springs are shorter than stock so when the shocks travel up and down, the springs bounce up and down due to bumps, force, or if a person has blown shocks, the top perch hitting the top of the springs.

Coil wrap has been tested, tried and true man!!! Go to Radio Shack, slap down 3 bucks and take care of the noise easily DIY. You don't need to take off the springs to stop the creaking noise. Just jack up the car until you can get some decent space in between the spring coils and slide the coil wrap (cut about 3" off) around the bottom coils. Slide it down as far as you can, practically until it hits the bottom perch. Lower the car and the noise will be gone, cuz' you just provided a buffer between the coils so they don't grind together when you turn the steering wheel. IT WORKS!! Now, to get rid of clanking noises when your car hits a bump, you WILL need to remove the springs, unless you can just deal with the noise. Not causing any damage, just annoying. Should you decide to do this, you need to remove the springs and wrap the VERY BOTTOM COIL with the rubber isolator that should still be adhered to the bottom of your stock springs. Rip it off the stocks and then just slide it around the aftermarkets. This rubber stops the metal springs from clanking against the metal perch that it sits in every time you hit a bump. All noises should be gone.

Yes, Radio Shack. $3.00. Go in and look for it on the wall or just ask for a plastic cable wrap. You'll have to cut it cuz' you only need about 3" per spring. They're used to wrap electrical cables and stuff like that, but they will fit around your springs. Remember to wrap the dead coils. Push it down and around the springs as close to the perch as possible.

BTW: This thread is 9 months old and obviously no one read the post I made about this back in August.

I have the sane problem with my H&R and Koni yellow setup i was told that the bearing that sits on top of the spring are bad. (front)
