Confused about how much I can drop!
Okay, I am getting Tein SS VERY soon, will be having the store order them tomorrow most likely. They are telling me that will my 215/45/17 tire, I probably wont be able to drop more than 1"-1.25". I was under the impression from everyone here that I could go 1.5". He said he will do it low enough where I will not scrub at all.
Could anyone here tell me how they I can go without rubbing? And should I do camber kit or not?

I know I cant drop it all the way. I know Goldlines rub and thats supposedly a 1.75" drop.
Does anybody with Teins and 215/45/17 know? I know theres a guy on here who had this set-up, hes got a hatch now, i think its civictecps or something.

get the camber kit... you don't want your tires to be wearing out unevenly do you? and plus your gonna have to get an alignment anyway because you lowered it, so might as well get your camber kit adjusted at the same time...

Okay- this is useless- nobody seems to exactly know because everyone keeps saying drop it all the way or 2 inches, and i know that will rub with my tires. I have heard many stories on here about people with goldines, a 1.75" drop that rub with 215/45/17 tires.
Thanks anways guyz.

It all depends on the wheel offset. If you've got a 44 or 45 offset, you can probably drop it quite a ways with no problem. If you've got a 38 or a 40, then forget it... you can't go very far at all. How you set the camber is also going to make a big difference.

Well, I dont know my offset. I was never asked, I just ordered my Konig Prophets, picked out my tires, and told him what car it was going on. Should I call and ask?

17x7.5" 42mm offset.
That's like a 40 on a 7" rim. That would be pushing it... Especially with a 215/45 tire. I can suggest finding someone else near you with a dropped car and try it, go with coilovers so you can dial it in, or go with something with a lesser drop. If you fill up the gap with tire, you don't need to slam it for it to look good anyway.

Yeah, im going with Tein SS. What he told me he would do is drop it as far as he could without me scrubbing. And i do have the 17x7.5". I was just wondering how much...
Thanks for y'alls help, I appreciate it. This site is frustrating lately I think.

Okay, my dumbass just measured what 2 inches would be. It looks like it might rub a little but only on bumps, HAHA, im thinking an 1.5" or so should be fine cause I dont think I will have any extra money for camber kit. I know, i should probably wait and just buy the camber kit, but I wanna drop to either a 40 series profile tire and up to 18's and then I would drop it more and get the camber kit then. I have started to hate my 45 series profile- I dont know why I was convinced to get them.
