For Glen find your way to the US site, for better info, goto the UK or DE site. Though the US site has gotten better, I think they're not allowed to say certain things in american advertising. sorry couldn't find his email off hand, check the ephatch forum too.

Did you hear they now have a special upper mount? It's a replacement for the oem one, costs 175$ if you buy it with a group buy, 225$ otherwise.

my bad, I guess I wasn't on top of things... Though I'm definetly going ta need to get some, as I'm definetly getting more boing as the weather gets colder and/or rain's eaten away at the original lubrication when I installed them, jsut don't wanna have to get another alignment when I put the uppermounts in.
Sorry bout that... definetly going to be my next upgrade :-) Now what do the Flex have on us? nothin. unless you're too lazy to go turn the ***** on your shocks and want the edfc for 500$ lol...
Those people who think they need stiffer spring rates, I'm on a soft setting with the KW V2s, and driving through the City of DC, don't do it. I mean, I was moving my sister, and I was worried glass bottles were gonna break, it's more than stiff enough. Granted the Flex aren't that much more stiff, I wonder about how stiff their shock settings are comparatively... heh, now that I'm back to suburbia with some nice roads, I'm gonna turn my shocks way back up and go out on some twisties. :-)
Thansk Glen for the involvement as always, KW certainly has exploded onto the scene haven't they. :-)

i mainly use it for everyday use, but plan to do autoX or circuit track. the reason i choose the V2's is because of it's dampening adjustability and most of all, the stainless steel construction. winter is bad here in maryland. how about you?
ya.. like macrossranma said.
'cause i was comparing it with tein's. and someone has it up here in toronto. he was trying to compare it with......... "tein's has 16 level of stiffness"
... im just trying to figure out does he mean the dampering....
.. as for me, everyday use as well, prolly few times of autocross over the summer when i have time.. and partly for show at car shows if i decide to take part.
cant beat out stainless steal.

Quality wise, they're stainless steel, but there's alot more that goes under the "quality" category, so we'll just have to see, but my best guess is they're at least up there with tein and B+G, if not better. KW at least gives technical data on their items, like the give charts on their rebound, and spring rates (which B+G doesn't).
I paid 1275$ originally, but am going to be getting a check for the difference of the ephatch offer for 1150$ since I ordered before they came out with that stellar discount. Ocelaris

thx.
so how are you enjoying your kw?
you got the kw's, right>?
im contemplating on the kw and teins again.. 'caue the tein's .. i can get 'em for 1500cdn compared to 1650cdn. on the kw's... but kw's are stainless steal.. but i heard/read that tein's were made with different material or better quality for 7thgens.
I like the KWs, but I've never had the others either... If I were going to do it again I'd definetly get the upper mounts that KW now makes for their coilovers, I just wish they had them out when I put mine in the first time. I think they're like 175$ US if you buy them with the coilovers... Do the teins have a better upper mount? Are you talking about the basic teins or the flex teins? I would much rather have the KWs than the basic, but I think the flex have better upper mounts than the default KWs... but add the KW upper mount, and you're about even with the Tein Flex... though the flex has a higher spring rate. I think you can get KWs in higher spring rates if you want, I might see if they could make some stiffer springs so when I order the new upper mounts I can put some stiffer springs in.
I just put some koni shocks/dampers in my friend's ex tonight, they seem to do pretty well. I think he said he paid about 450 for 4 shocks, and what, 200$ for the lowering springs, 80$ to get the struts cut, though you probably could do it yourself if you had the tools. That is another option.
I don't think that 7thgens are any different from the SI suspension from what I've seen, and I've done 2 coilover installs on 7thgens, and my own SI... the only difference was the issue with bolt holes being different sizes, just open the hole up if it's an issue. that part is a non-issue with me. What I care about is the quality of the shock, the spring rate, and the general quality of the material. I liked my friend's teins, they felt solid, looked good, only thing I didn't like was that he had two opposing lock rings for the lower spring perch. My KWs have a single ring that locks with a hex key, very awesome after adjusting my friend's. All in all I think they're all pretty good, I just liked how KW was out in the scene and real open about all their products with ratings on all their shocks, spring rates, and how Glen and the KW north america ditributers were around to talk to me when I was looking at getting some.
If you get the KWs, you can later upgrade to the pillowball upper mounts (I'm not sure they're really called that, but I think they're the same thing.

Hey Glen- When are the V3s coming out for our cars? The groupd buy for the upper perches @ $175 is that with everything or just a group of us buying? Also, how much is the set-up we are all talking about? $1200? + Get back with me fellas, Thanks
BTW been reading the whole thread, Lots of good info. 2 things though, Front camber bolts where are they going? and what was the issue with the fitment with the 14mm (01-02) and the 16mm (03 civics)
So I just need to grab a Ingalls Camber kit as well, huh? Lots of cash to dish out for us poor people. Wife just gets mad. "Why do need all that?" she asks... Could I really explain it?

you're the man and you can do whatever you want... and right now, you like to add a sick a s s suspension to your car. ....................... *slap*
haha

it was 1150US shipped i believe it was.
you would just need a rear camber kit.. 'cause the front holes were a lil' bigger... which can allow you to adjust it.
Tein makes nice stuff, they've been in the import business a long time. I went with KW because the price is low because they're tryin to make a name for themselves in the import market. They're already in VW/porsche/BMW and other german cars (they're in Germany). I personally don't know if most people would know the difference, except the Tein SS has a less stiff spring rate. The Tein Flex has a higher rate, and other things which make it in the 1600$ range, up with the KW V3 if they ever come out. But in the 1200-900$ range, I think the stainless steel was my choice, especially since I got them new on my car and hope they last. So far so good. great improvement.
Macrossrannma,
I have 2 fingers all around, but I had it at 1/2 finger for a while, but given my driving habits (some crappy DC roads) I wanted a little more room. I had some mad negative camber for about 2 weeks before I got it aligned in both front and reap, but after alignment it was an awesome change. You'll definetly need the rear, and the front is like 10$. I tried to do a little aligning myself, but not a whole lot of success. Sorry I don't have any numbers in alignment, I just had them set it back to stock camber, like I think it was 1.5* negative camber all around. I can check my helms manual if you want, but most shops should know what civic stock camber settings are. Best, Bill
