Question lowering springs

i wanna get my car lowered but every place i go to they say that lowering the car is very bad because the ride becomes really really hard and it messes up the shocks and the whole suspension. after hearing that from every shop i wondered why so many people get their cars dropped if its so bad. also, what do u guys think is a perfect amount to drop the car whcih wont make it too low where the hweels goes under the wheel well. if u can post some pics of ur civics which are dropped, can u also tell me how many inches it was dropped. if u guys can help i will be very thankful. thanx

well theres alot of money invested in what i call a "TRUE" drop. I have eibach sportlines with eibach camber kit and still have stock shocks/struts. When you are dropping your car you have alot to consider. You need to consider getting an alignemt pretty often due to the camber being out and the alignment out. My sportlines are 1.8 all around but eibach makes a pro-kit which is 1.0 all around and is a nice sporty look. If you lower your vehicle your gonna need to get a camber kit no matter how low you drop your vehicle. The camber kit keeps your wheels in line; straight up and even aligned closest to stock specs. Its not bad to drop your vehicle if you use all of these items.

Springs-good quality such as Eibach, H&R
Camber kit- Eibach, Ingalls, Intrax etc.
Shocks/struts- Koni. i still have stock and no problems different cars will vary due to the way you drive i.e. potholes speedbumps.

your gonna have to take it easy when you lower your car if you decide to.

That was a good post Injen, however I must insist that you search. All of this has been covered. Read the FAQ and there is even thread with pictures of drops. There is alot of info on this site. If you are confused about something that has not been covered then feel free to post.
