Braking Vibrations
Mk, so my car has about 14,200 miles on it and when I brake at high speeds, there is a little bit of vibration in not only the brakes but the wheel kinda vibrates a little bit too. This only happens when I'm braking, not when driving so I don't think it's that the tires aren't balanced properly.

yup, sounds like warped rotors, or a misaligned front end, That does that sometimes. If they are warped, youll need to purchace new ones, but with that few miles on it, the dealership may fix it under warrenty.
oh ya, Rotors are the Disks that your brake pads get pressed against to stop the car.

Heat. They can warp from excessive braking (Like durring autocross or driving down Mountain roads) or by getting hot, then you drive throug a puddle and Poof! warped rotors. (Heat causes metals to expand, cold makes them contract.
So If a rotor is very hot and is cooled quickly, think puddle, then the difference in temp of the Hot parts of the rotor (expanded) and the now cold part of the rotor (contracted) cause the area inbetween them to streach, thus warping the shape of the rotor. Warping a rotor through hard braking is a simalar process but it takes longer and ushually dosn't warp the rotor as much.
also the Sock rotors arn't that great any way, they are infact prone to warping. I'd suggest getting a set of Brembo or other such reputible brand of rotor manufacturers rotors. You dont need drilled and/or slotted rotors either, those are for Looks and in some cases performance applications.

Ok, I'll give the dealer a call today to see if it's covered under warranty at all. If it's not, I guess I'll just get some new rotors. Is it often that rotors warp like that? I mean, what type or brand of rotors should I look for to avoid having this happen again?
Rotors are considered a "wear" item and are not covered under warranty, outside of 12,500. You can have them "turned" at any brake shop for a price of anywhere from $8.00 ea. if you take them off the vehicle. to $100.00 if they have to take them off. Resurfacing them makes them like new again. It shave's millimeters off the rotor and makes it true again. You can do this process usually 3-4 times per rotor. Then Replace them. I dont suggest replacing them at 14,000 miles. You'll get into some un needed replacement and money. There's my .02
almost the same problem
My brothers car is kinda like that too, but how can it be warpped when he doesn't race or do anything spirited racing related. Basically even when going under 30mph and you brake slowly the pedel has a slight vibration you can feel. And lets say I do bring it back to honda will I get some BS saying that I lowered the car and changed the suspension so the warranty is void?
you need to get your breaks resufaced and it wouldnt hurt to get your pads replaced. Honda here in san jose, said it would cost about $300.00 to do. damn it almost seams like you could get new roters and pads for less then that and have a friend do it. if ts not that then you might need to just get your tires balenced, you should have those checked first.

The pretty much put them on a lathe and take off a few thousandths or so until the rotor has an evenly flat surface... You usally can get your rotors turned twice before you have to replace them.

So, until I figure out what I wanna do, I'll just live with it I guess.
.........Unless that is going to damage my car...
***UPDATE***
Mk, well, my brakes started making a scraping sound on top of the pedal vibration so I called up my local Honda dealer yesterday and the guy was like "Blah blah, blah blah blah blah, blah, blah blah, blah $295 plus tax, blah blah" I was like

So I said sign me up bish, I'll see you nine tomorrow morning sharp. Early this morning, I took my car to my local Goodyear and said check my brakes. Hour and a half later, they call me and say that the right front caliper is bad, some sort of hydraulic problem and that it's covered under warranty. I was like

They didn't charge me for the brake check either so the whole brake fiasco is totally free! Weeeeeeeee!
So I took it to the Honda dealer, they looked at it, called me back and said they will get the part in tomorrow and call me up when it's ready.
But I'm kinda curious, what would cause this to happen to my right front brake system......thingy......in the first place?

i used to have some nasty brake groan and vibrating pedal action when i first got my car. i changed to crossdrilled/slotted rotors with nissan pads. brake groan and vibrating gone.
however after checking the Vehical issue / problem forumn. i have found that this was a TSB. take it to ur dealer and complain. hopefully they will fix it for u.

I notice sometimes my brakes will like 'chatter' when i like slam them on from going fast. like when Im doing about 80mph and I have to turn now, then they kinda shake, but i figure its just the ABS
