Question Painting Wheels

Has anyone ever done this before?

I am considering painting my wheels white to match the paint, or gunmetal. For the white my friend powdercoated his wheels white, but I think I like the look of a glossy white w/ clear coat. If I were to do it myself should I use paint from the auto parts store?

Or should I just get it done professionally? How much do you think it will cost? Like a price range to give me an idea.

thanks

Powder coating would be much more durable but I believe a couple of people here have had their rims painted to match the body color. If I were to have my rims painted I probably would have a body shop do it so it will look professional, rather than a $5 spray can job.

Always go pro(fessional). Without hesitation. Dont mess up on rims cuz they can totally change the look of your car, good and bad.

I've heard that if you paint or powdercoat your rims that they chip easily.
