Question What rotors should i get???

i want to upgrade my brakes due to the fact that i cant stand the rusty stock honda ones that i have. what would be a good choice that isnt going to put a big hole in my pocket?? by the way i have 17x7's on my car.

some brembo drilled rotors got anti rust coating.

I dunno much about slotted rotor, never had one. Some say it damages the brake pads faster. I only got drilled rotors on the bike....

slotted rotors wear out the brake pads faster if they're put on backwards. imo get a set of brembo blanks and some nice pads and you'll be good. if you're going for show, though, slotted/drilled and BIG BIG BIG

Just remember if you get a bigger rotor make sure your rims will be big enought for them to fit and remember if you ever want to put the stocks back on that they would have to fit with that too.

I heard that drilled rotor are not as good as the slotted ones. With driled rotors u loose braking surface area and my friend for club si told me that under heavy pressure they may crack.

Those are true, but under normal drive conditions and with stock calipers you arent going to crack the rotors. Will never get hot enough. And the surface area you are lose is minimal. It is pretty much equal trade. More surface area equals more for the brakes to grab. Drilled holes equals less weight and better heat dissappation so you wont need alot of pad. Holes and Slots also help with the dust issue. Just remember all the pads are heat transfer devices and thats all braking is turning kinetic energy into thermal energy.

brembo rotors are replacement of OEM . so it shouldnt have any problem with stock steelies. i beieve you will need at least 17s to fit aem big brake system

Don't waste your $$! Almost all aftermarket rotors are made of steel & will rust, once the anti- rust coating comes off. You'll have Rusty rotors w/ holes & slots instead of plain rusty rotors!

How many F1/ Indy cars do you see w/ drilled/ slotted rotors? They both weaken the stucture of the discs. They do help w/ heat dissipation & gassing. But those are not concerns w/ a good brake pad & disc material. Drilled/ slotted rotors are a cheap work- around & are mainly for show. (& a marketing ploy to sell $ 20 discs for much more!!)

Exacly my point, go with either blanks or slotted (IMO).

HondaLuver will become famous soon enough
if you want a kit go with the wilwoods, they cost only 600 and have had many great reviews, compared to the AEMs which cost 1,200 and i haven't heard to many things about those...

Dont get me wrong they probably arent the best. But I did say under normal driving conditions. And last time I checked our cars werent F1 cars and didnt do 0-60 under four and couldnt pull 200 miles an hour. Our cars are never subject to these conditions so if you want to get some rotors that proform to standard and happen to look decent its not a bad choice. If its good enough for porsche then its good enough for me. And with all the research there isnt a strong enough case for either one. Its all personal preference.
