*The 555 is an all-out performance tire, with a tread compound for maximum traction
*The 450 is an all season tire, mud & snow rated with a tread compound for wet weather & winter traction (if needed)
Nitto rates them exactly the same as far as how long they will last. Go look on the sidewall of the tires:
UTQG Treadwear: 300
Traction: A
Temperature: A
Maybe your shop notices the 555's don't last as long because everybody is driving the wheeeee out of them
Since you are really going for show instead of go anyway, why don't you just pick the tread pattern that will look best on those GT-N's?
Then you gotta post some pics!

i think you should get the 555's because in LA it doesn't snow to often and rarly rains... so you should get maximum performance... but alot of the time it matters how you drive... my kumho's had about 80 percent terad letf on them after 20,000 miles, my friend has the same tires and less miles and he has like 40 percent...
i have a civic and he has a 300zx... btw he likes to bust dounuts and whatnot

I have the NT450, go for the NT555
The NT450's edge wears pretty quickly. Traction is excellent, but i know that my car could handle higher speeds at times.
The tire overall is B+.

If the edge is wearing quickly you probably have them underinflated. check the pressure.

The people at America's Tire told me to keep them at 35psi. However, i have a feeling that 40psi is more correct...
Thanks for the tip, I'll pump them to 40psi today...

Before you do that, what size are they? and what conditions are the roads you drive on. 40psi is a lot of pressure, when I autocross I put my front tires to 44 but when Im on the street, I run 32. this is with 205/40zr17's. If you have a very low profile tire, then you will probably run a higher psi, If they said to run 35 I'd try 37 or 38. 1lbs of pressure on a low profile tire can make a lot of difference.

ya, my kumhos say max of 44. i found 40 was a bit to hard and 35 was a bit to soft. i run 38 psi all the time. just play around until you find what you think is just right. 37-38 psi is about right though.

Zzyzx, i have 215/35/18
The tires do feel quite soft at 35psi. I drive 75% highway and 25% (L.A.) streets.

go for the NT555s.
As for tire pressure, when u inflate them (the tires should be cool; that means when the temperature is cool & the car hasn't been run for a while) For street driving, it is recommended that you should set it 10 PSI below max pressure listed on the tire sidewall. Some tires (like my Dunlop FM901s run 50 PSI max)

Try running them in the 37-38 psi range. You will probably run a little higher pressure on the front like a lbs or two. you dont want them too hard, because you run the risk of blowing them off their bead when you hit a bump.
Good luck.
Good luck.
