Question Tires for a 16 in rim

I'm planning to get 16" rims for my car and am planning to get 205/55/16 tires, does anyone know if this tire size is too large. (My car is not lowered, nor do I plan to lower it.)

get 205/50/16. 55 is gonna be too big and throw your speedometer off.

Use the tire calculator.

Get 215/50/16 and your speedometer and odometer will be exactly the same.

215 is only too wide if your car is lowered. It will strike the rear fender well. A common problem especially with people who lower their car on 17s. Since he's not lowering his car, it shouldn't be a problem.

Maybe by now you have used the Tire Calculator and seen that 205/55-16 is one of the recommended "Plus One" sizes. Even though that's not the size everyone on this thread (including me) has chosen for their own car, you will be perfectly fine. Actually the fatter sidewall of the 55 series will probably help fill the fenderwell gap since you don't plan on lowering your car. Just remember to factor in your speedometer error when you are driving at higher speeds.

Hey, check out my ride! I just got 205/55/16s and they don't look too bad. They are slightly larger than a stock tire but up here in Canada the 195/55/16 are impossible to find. They come stock on the new Mini Cooper and are a Goodyear run flat. I don't suggest them because they are 3 times the price of a regular tire. Firestone Fire Hawk GTA-02s are available in 195/55/16. Check it out on the tire calc.!

If you're planning on buying rims, I'd at least get 17's. Then get 215/40/17 tires. They will look so much better.
