How much to drop?

I just got ADR Revolution 17"s with nitto 450 205-40-zr17 tires. I wanna drop my car like 2 inchs but I dont know if thats ok or whatnot. I got like a 3 inch wheelgap. Does anyone know how much I can drop. BTW i have Magnaflow cat back exhaust. I was looking at Skunk2 springs which are 2"-2.5" drop. Any ideas?

i've heard some bad things with coilovers in places that get snow. i guess the salt messes up the coils. i personally just got goldline springs w/1.75 inch drop.

2.5" is a perfect drop with no tire gap with 40 series tires. i wouldnt recommend it if you do get snow.

Yeah...go with some 2.25", that's what I have on my ride. It is a PERFECT drop...it's not as low as what you or other ppl might say it is.

hey bro I am running on 205/40/17's and I know what you mean, the gap is kinda wierd. I am going to go with neuspeed sports because they said that once they settle after about 4 months or so that it turns into about a 2 inch drop. Anything lower than that your asking to put a lot of money into your suspension. Anyways go with something around 2 inches, like the sprint springs or maybe even the goldlines. What ever you get you have to post pictures.

I installed my skunk2 springs a week and a half ago and they aren't that low

Well they are not 2.25, more like 1.75 .

I mean I had a professional help me do the install and he says they are just as low as goldline so dunno man. I'm not to sure about skunk2 springs...

I run the same size tires and wheels on my coupe. Since its my daily driver on stock struts(until they blow) I didnt want to go that low that I had to worry about scraping and getting over speed bumps. So for me the Eibach Sportlines(1.4" drop) are perfect. Took away most of the gap and I can still get around town fine. I've only scraped once over a speed bump with a couple of friends riding with me.

dont go with coilovers, your ride will be extremly bumpy. i have a 2 in. drop with progress springs and my ride isn't that bad. i wouldn't suggest anything more than 2. And also use springs

Im going with intrax. Springs are the way to go on a budget, go with Teins down the road if you ever get the money, that's a nice set up

The most I'd go with is 1.75.
