Locking Lugs...

Got the wheels on order (OZ Superleggera), Got the almost picked out (Yok AVS ES100 or Parada-S2), I need to attach it all.... with a little deterrent. I like the Kyokugen lugs... in the fact that they're heptagonal (7 sided), so I don't think you could get a regular socket on them, but I also don't know how difficult that makes them to remove. I searched the forum and there isn't much on wheel locks to read about. I saw someone mention something about a lock that has a key that fits into a pattern and theres a freely rotating sleeve on the outside so you can't wrench it off, but didn't mention what they were. I need a good set of locks.... what do you guys recommend?

hrmm, I have the McGard Splinedrives, but I'm pretty sure those aren't up to the level of security you will need with OZ Superleggras.

Project2k2 is on a distinguished road
I bought locking lugs from Discount Autoparts. They have a certain key
you need, a pattern that only that key will match and you can't
just take em off. Pretty good if you ask me got em for liek 10 bucks, set of 4.

666 is an unknown quantity at this point
I have a set of Gorilla locking lug nuts, they work fine. Try out a set of Rays lightweight lug nuts, or a set of Mugen ones, they are around a $100 though.

Well, it turns out OZ includes the lugs and centering rings with the wheels, but they don't give you locks.... I don't know why... anyone who doesn't lock $275 rims on is a moron... but if they fit, I'll probably order some Mugen locks for them. They're only $65 from King Motorsports as opposed to $135 for Ray's. I still have to look into this heptagonal lug though... I'm not sure how good it would actually be. I can see not being able to get a socket on it, but still being able to get a wrench or something around the flats and get it off. Although, you would need to do it 4 times per wheel to pull it off.

Future reference note for anyone who may find this actually searching.....
Mugen Lugnuts and Locks will not fit any wheels other than Mugen. The fact that they are only $65 must be your consolation prize for spending $550 on each rim.
