bolt patterns

Are wheels with multiple bolt patterns more likely to break around the lug holes than a wheel with a single bolt pattern?

I doubt it. The fact that there's extra holes was probably accounted for when the rim was designed and tested. Theres probably extra material between the patterns to strengthen it.

No, for the amount of horse power our cars make it would be very hard for the rim to break at that point. Even in heavy cornering.
