Better wheel: Motegi or ADR

I have the option of getting white 17" Motegi MR12's or ADR white Syntax. If anyone has these on their car I would love to see them.

Which one is the better brand?

Should I get 215/45 or 215/40 ??

I got MR7's in my car, I love them. I think Motegi wheels are kinda heavy, thats good if you're not gonna be racing because they'll be a bit stronger. But it's not good if you're gonna be racing. I noticed a big difference once i put on my rims + 150 feet of sound deadening + system.

Ha, those are my rims. Turn your private messages on by clicking the orange padlock where it says "no new message(s) so I can PM you.

I have those rims but in black. They're not on the car yet but I have pics of them. I'm not putting them on until my suspension is done. They happen to look exactly like the rims from the new Integra (RSX) Type R that come in white and silver (opal I think).

Oh, and as for tire size, I'm assuming you're getting 17s.

215/45/17
Pros:
Larger profile = quieter tire, less road noise (but also depends on the tire)
Better than 40 if you live in an area with bad pavement... potholes and the liking
Speedometer isn't affected as much
Overall look of the wheel doesn't look so small

Cons:
Tire will rub fender well if lowered too much in the rear (can be countered by rolling the fenders)

215/40/17
Pros:
If you like the look of a low profile tire, this is the size to get
Tire won't rub fender well in the rear (this is because the diameter of the entire wheel with the tire is smaller than your stock wheel with it's tire. I'm comparing this to an EX wheel.)

Cons
Suceptible to bad roads and a pothole big enough can burst the tire and bend the rim. If your rim is out of production or can't find a replacement, you're screwed.
Louder road noise - in fact, it's very clear due to the smaller tire.
Speedometer will be off and will show that you're going a few MPH more than you're not.

I can't think of anything else. I think it's the most common question asked here... the tire size.

Personally I'd go with these sizes because a lower profile = better traction (if you're in it for performance) but too low will also make you have road noise and I find that annoying to the ear, but the bigger the rim, the bigger your chances increase of having that:

For 14s: Unsure... I don't own a DX or LX.
For 15s: 195/55/15
For 16s: 205/50/16
For 17s: 215/45/17
For 18s: 225/40/18
For 19s: Unsure, but the profile would predictably be 35.

I ended up getting the ADR Syntax with 215/45/17. I only plan on lowering it like 1.5" and I think the 45's will be okay.

I've got pics in my sig.

Good choice, no offense to anyone who has them... but Motegi rims are probably one of the lowest quality rims you can buy, we were going to sell them but opted not to, do to some of my friends in the business having so many problems with them...
