Question about offsets
http://www.goldlineonline.com/02Civic5.JPG
I think those rims looks really nice and I have them in 16"X7.5" and would be nice if I could save my money by reusing my rims ...
A quick question ... I was going to lower my car probably with goldline springs (about 1.75") ... but this is the thing. Those rims in the picture, when fitted on my '99 accord stuck out about 3/4 of a centimeter from the car in the front. Now this was ok becuase my '99 accord wasn't lowered ... but if I decided to lower my 2k2 civic ... and the rim sticks out like that does it might mean that when going over a bump might cause the tire to hit the fender above the tire ???
Please let me know (btw the +offset for that rim is +42mm)
Like if I by rims ... should the tire fit completely inside the fender ... so that if you look at the car from the front ... the wheels are inside the fender ???
Thanks.

If those were on an accord, you aren't going to get them on a Civic. The bolt pattern isn't the same. (Accord = 4x114.3, Civic 4x100). So it won't even matter what the offset is. But in general, if you put +42 offset rims on a Civic, you'll be fine.

But on the rim as you can see in the pic ... it has the 8 holes to put lugs in (in a square pattern). Doesn't that mean that it can fit both the 100mm and the 114mm ??? Kinda a universal fit for that rim ???
Just wondering

Well it may not be a 4x100 pattern. What rim is that? For all anyone knows the other pattern could be 4x108. If you have the rims already, why don't you just take a wheel off the car and see if one of those fits. The lugs are either going to line up and the rim will go on, or they arent going to fit.

i dont think you can fit any 5 lug on our cars... i've heard of rims fitting 4x100 and 4x114(or whatever bolt patterns there are) but i've never heard of 4 and 5 lug on one wheel... if you look at the pattern even on the "universal" ones, you'll see a difference between the 4 and 5 lug
