I need beginner info

well just started getting into cars and stuff and was wondering if anyone can give me some sites with wheel and tire information. such as what 205/40/18 and stuff like that means, and what balancing is and everything else. thx for your time.

well 205/40/18 are the measurments of the tires and balencing is well balencing. hang around here. you'll learn everything you need to know. and rememer if you buy rims our cars a 4 lug.

More specifically... buy rims with a 4x100 bolt pattern. Read the sticky post at the top of this forum about rims... that should tell you quite a bit. As for 205/40/18.... the tread is 205 mm wide, the sidewall height is 40% of the tread width and the 18 is the rim size.

check out this link tire/wheel tech info, it has all the basic info about wheels and tires that you need to know.
